I am not a lawyer, but it would seem to me that whoever loses the case and has to pay the other sides expenses would have to pay extra to have process servers chase them all over the country. so wouldn't sydney mckraken end up just paying for this all herself?

I work for my county sheriff in the civil unit. We handle service of process like this.

Yes, the law here does allow for all fees to be added to the judgment amount in civil judgments. Even when the attorney gets an address wrong, the defendant is still liable for any additional service fees.....
