I finished a degree at UNC Greeley in '76. Not much to recommend it other than they accepted all my hours from U of Texas, unlike CU and CSU.

I take it that the sleepiness there has been replaced by assholishness. Wasn't really a nice place, but it had its charms back then.

Gotta disagree with Gary on this one point -

“Aesthetically, we think they make a weird-looking couple because she’s very pretty and he looks like he clubs his dinner over the head and drags it back to his cave every night.”

Respectfully disagree. Taylor is pretty, no doubt, but I’m a fan of the no-makeup, less-is-more style my wife rolls with. No makeup, maybe some Chapstick, and she doesn’t even shave (the horror!). I can’t begin to imagine the stress that must come with having to always look perfect, with THE perfect shade of kissable red lipstick and all else. Travis, on the other hand, is adorable. He just is. His eyes are beautiful and there is something sweet about his smile and joy in his pics with Taylor. If she’s gonna date a footballer, he’s a good pick aesthetically. He also seems to come from a close, loving family and his footballer brother is married to a tall, beautiful blonde woman. They have cute kids and seem very happy. Taylor is no doubt enjoying that family experience. If they don’t make it, it’s no big surprise given the unimaginable attention and pressure they are under at every moment. That, and Travis can date any number of beautiful women at any time, and probably expect some real undivided attention and support. Taylor has a massive career of her own. They could be ok with that, but if he’s ok sharing her with the rest of the world half the time, he’s even more impressive than his nfl career.

Sorry, Alpha boys, this lib has the truth for your sensitive ears. It ain’t Taylor. The Chiefs lost the most explosive wide receiver in the league in Tyreek Hill 2 years ago, but made up some of that with nearly 1000 yards from JuJu Smith-Schuster. They lost him too, last year. They lost 4-5 key starters on the O line and on defense. Kelce is a great TE. He’s been a very good TE this year, despite being double and triple teamed most times. He’s just the only real threat KC has beyond their QB, who has no star RB to hand off to and no star receivers to throw to. Mahomes is a star QB, but he’s got a 34 year-old TE with tons of miles on him and too much defensive pressure.

That’s it. Not some weird misogynistic Taylor Swift hating fantasy. Taylor is a distraction to many fans, journalists and sports people, but there’s no evidence that Kelce isn’t able to play the sport he’s been playing for 15 years because he has a famous gf. If the Chiefs had been able to keep Hill and add a solid RB, they might be undefeated.

Taylor is not Travis's Yoko Ono, she's his Delilah. You see his very short haircut? More proof.

I see what's happening in the top picture: (Not Saturn) Taylor is devouring (not his son) her boyfriend. Brilliant!

I am not a "Swiftie" in the sense that I follow her, know all things about her, have all of her music, live and die with her fortune of misfortunes. I am not a Kansas City Chiefs fan, nor do I care whether Travis Kelce gets into the HoF or not. OTOH, I have taken notice of this obsession with their romance, etc, and I think it's good and wholesome and a welcome distraction. What I do know of Taylor Swift, I like and think she's a great entertainer with all the right values and I'm glad she is making a fucking fortune and that she pisses off the mouthbreathers.

If by “Yoko Ono,” people mean Taylor Swift is a legitimate artist interested in supporting her boyfriend and his team (who have their own separate problems) while pursuing her own career, then yes, she’s Travis’s Yoko Ono.

You people are all wrong. Meghan Markle brought the whole team down-- not satisfied with breaking that dear old Queen Elizabeth's heart. When the Chiefs lost, I imagine Queen Elizabeth knew who to blame as she turned sadly in her grave.

I'm so glad you get my comment. I worry a lot about Meghan M. What is wrong with people? Don't they remember what Princess Diana went through with those thugs at Windsor? People comment "I'm so glad Diana isn't alive to see what she and Harry have done!" etc etc.

This makes me laugh because Harry and Meghan, as far as I know, have tried only to become smaller targets for the tabloids. Everything else, to borrow some US sports terminology, is unforced errors on the monarchy’s part.

Male pills are a great idea. Yes, there's a LOT of situations where trash men will lie about taking it to get out of using a condom; and a lot of men who can't be trusted to take out the bins but reckon they can be responsible for the family's contraception.

THAT SAID, it gives more options to couples AND allows men to protect themselves even better against causing an unplanned pregnancy. If I was a man who enjoyed casual sex, I'd be champing at the bit to get my hands on extra contraceptive options.

People with the uterus can still use whatever form of contraception they choose, so for those who don't trust the penis person to take care of contraception, it's simply a doubling up. It's a good thing.

Until men's penises blow up by 40 pounds or can bleed out as a consequence of having sex, then I'll say No, I haven't changed my mind. Nonetheless, I think the option should be available.

I know as a husband who accepts that my wife isn't interested in more children, I'd happily and responsibly take the pill regularly, but I understand not every situation is like mine. I would love there to be a male "the pill" but I don't think it should change anything about the pill, but I'd love the addition of contraception options.

I don't get this article. Does ahe REALLY mean to suggest that development of a male pill was blockaded by women complaining about the pills' side effects?

"In the end, it took so long not because women booed gossypol all those years before today’s volunteers were born, but because previously mooted male contraceptives relied on blocking testosterone, which was considered too fraught."
