At Clarksville rally Trump told crowd

"Nobody has more contempt for Trump's fans than Trump."

We have now entered the "do you want daddy to hit you here, or there ?" phase of their sadomasochist relationship . . .

And they cheered and laughed and laughed.

If you think about it, a Giraffe is just a really tall goat.

Hollysdower's avatar

Giraffes are my favorite animal, because I've always wanted to be tall.

Our_Man_In_Redneckistan's avatar

Not at all. Giraffes have chill. Goats are dicks with ADHD.

zuludaddy (seamonkey!)'s avatar

giraffes, like chows and shar peis,

have purple tongues

(two of those are related ;] )

EyeQueue's avatar

The goat I took care of when I was a child was lovely and gentle and I loved her.

Our_Man_In_Redneckistan's avatar

You lucked out. I also raised goats and met maybe two cool ones.

EyeQueue's avatar

Yeah, I think I did. The goats my dad took care of when he was a kid were jerks and would head butt him, LOL!

Can someone help me understand something? How do the statistics people come up with their democratic voting results? It can't be just exit interviews. I was told that they use the demographics of the voting district, but that doesn't explain how they know what portion of what demographic voted for whom. They must have some way of getting demographics of the voters without getting their names. Otherwise, I they are trusting people to say they voted in a way that they didn't. Does anyone know?

Our_Man_In_Redneckistan's avatar

I’ve polled professionally. First, you look at the results of the last election, then you identify a subset of those voters to identify and ask. Then, if you’re good, a picture emerges.

Aquaman, Real Estate Investor.'s avatar

Exit interviews.

More commonly called exit polls.

The Covfefes ASAP!'s avatar

Didn't that leave room for people to lie?

MRK's avatar

All polling leaves room for people to lie. Polling is broken for entirely different reasons - namely, that it doesn't get random, representative samples - but exit polling is much better than most others. If widespread lying on polls were a significant problem, we'd have seen much more evidence of it than we have.

I haven't watched SNL in a long time but I've gotten into reruns of Kate McKinnon making the rest break up.

When she did the "Michelle Pfieffer Catwoman" bit - "And I have a whip, as cats do". I was in tears.

Pauly2coffees's avatar

Her alien abductee always makes me hysterical.

Anna-Elizabeth's avatar

Me too! It's funny when Ryan Gosling gets the giggles, but when she made Pedro Pascal and Woody Harrelson break, that was amazing.

And "It wasn't my worst Wednesday Night, I can tell you that."

She's so entertainingly offbeat. It's like she's from another dimension.

WTF is the deal with rich people stiffing the rest of us anyway?

Ron Filipkowski

@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

He knew. He intentionally stiffed them because he’s an arrogant prick who sues his OB/GYN patients. They repeatedly tried to get the bill paid. Then someone posted their pleas on social media. A bunch of us retweeted it. It went viral. ONLY THEN did this scumbag pay.

<Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) paid a Kansas bakery $1,300 on Saturday after its owner publicly accused his campaign of leaving a nearly $700 bill unpaid for six years.

The payment came days after Holly Thomas, owner of Holly’s Sweet Treats in Hutchinson, Kan., said Marshall’s 2020 Senate campaign never paid for cookies, cupcakes and brownies ordered for his Republican primary election watch party.>

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/marshall-pays-bakery-bill-after-complaint-goes-viral/ar-AA2e0Bwg

Shaming them does work

Shallow state's avatar

No, it really doesn't. Marshall paid only because his calculus was that not paying might actually be the thing that finally costs him the election. Paying them was nothing but a cost of doing business in the criminal sense of the phrase.

Teen Laqueefa's avatar

I pray to the non existent god that he loses handily.

Another wonderful Nice Timesᵀᴹ post to brighten our day. Thanks Ziggy. Your sketch is beautiful and your writing and curating are top notch as always. Also, thanks to all the Wonkers who contributed, you folks are so talented. And that mushroom M & Z harvested. Wow! I am amazed at the skills you two possess.

Given the baby animals theme I imagine someone else may have already shared a link to the Cheetah cub web cam to observe the 5 cubs that were born about a week ago at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI) in Front Royal, Virginia. However, it can't hurt to repeat something like that.
