Well, yesterday I started my new volunteer position at the animal rehab. I told them that I couldn't do the physical labor of cleaning out the carriers much longer, so they switched me to the new Patient Update team where my job will be to research patient statuses and report them to folks who dropped the patients off. It's a good way to fundraise and drive donations for the 100% donation operated rehab.
It was cool to work inside the building (both literally and figuratively). I got to see a duck and a turtle, and some people were feeding baby squirrels (not a fan, really). It was fun to see how much the veterinary staff love and dote on the animals, especially the lead vet. I like doing the updates because I like learning the outcomes (hint: most animals don't make it). I also like hearing all the phone calls during which the staff tells folks what to do if they find an animal. I can tell I am going to become a knowledgeable person about wild animals really fast, delightful.
I just don't get it. Why are they meeting? Nothing will change. In addition, Putin is a murderer. It is not safe. It would be so convenient for Russia if Zelenskyy was dead. I really don't get it.
