I think if nothing else, those of us who are either former Congressional staffers or New Yorkers are stunned and mortified, but at the same time completely unsurprised, that one of those yuks was up there talking in flagrante delicto about abuse of the Presidential pardon power and the other, a thug convicted for tax evasion at minimum, should've had the presence of mind as a former Congressperson to at least hush him up.

And yet both of them went on to show the world why any New Yorker from any other part of the city is at great pains to pretend with even greater frequency that Staten Island is not One of Us.

I mention the golf because that would hit Palm Springs and San Diego Repubs pretty hard. But you’re right, except for high tech much of the grunt work in CA is done by Mexican-Americans and immigrant Mexican citizens.
