Don't forget that these assholes, arguing process --- specifically that the process is unconstitutional and should not go forward -- are the same assholes who argued that they were not given access to process when various judges all across the country shut down Trump's attempts to overturn the election.

"They rejected our cases outright! No jury was even allowed to decide the cases on the merits!" WAAAAH!

"This whole impeachment is a travesty of a mockery of a sham! We don't have to decide the case on its merits because it's illegal!"

Fucking idiots: anyone who identifies as a Republican.

Thank you, Wonkette, for posting the video. I might have overlooked it otherwise. I watched, and my usual snark ran away. I'm sure it will come back later, wagging its tail sheepishly.

What a contrast in the rhetoric, between Rep. Raskin and those who argued against the legality of the impeachment trial.

Also, what a strong example Rep. Raskin sets for those who merely prattle on about patriotism. Rather in telling us how much of a patriot he is, because he so loves god, and family, and country, he instead recounts his personal experience on January 6th, and removes all doubt. Here is someone who puts what is necessary and just for the country ahead of his personal needs, at a time of extreme crisis with both.

A choice, good Senators. An easier and obvious choice.

That's also an organizing principle of fascism.

Beat the empathy out of people and then you can normalize violence against those they hate and want to oppress.

I can’t even imagine the fortitude a man like Raskin must have. Imagine the gulf between him and Gohmert.

Representative Raskin has a knack for making me cry. I know he isn't trying to, it's just that his goodness shines out so against the backdrop of Republican Senators that it gets me. Every time.

Tabitha, please don't stay away from the Capitol forever. Your Dad needs you. And so does the nation.

That's the thing. I know in my soul that there are at least 17 GOP Senators who know that this is impeachable, wrong, and can't ever happen again, but they won't vote to convict regardless and they just want it to be over. Tom Cotton didn't watch the video? You wonder why?

This is not the Senate that the Framers envisioned. Just another thing they fucked up, really.

Jamie Raskin is The BEST! He got my vote every time he was on the ballot during my years in Monkey County, and he always did us proud. Hope his career extends to a long, long series of terms in the Senate, next- he is a genuine Democrat, and a good man.

What else have they got? The Sideshow Bob defense? "Attempted murder", now honestly, what is that!? Do they give a Nobel prize for "attempted" chemistry?" So likewise with "attempted coup".
