Thank you for including Josh Hawley haulin' ass away from the rioters he upfisted just hours earlier that day. HIS career should have ended on 1/6/21 as well. "Moscow" Mitch McConnell should live just long enough to see us turning the tide and him losing it all. Really, all of the repugnicans in office on that day were sad, weak poop. They ALL deserve to go down in history as the traitors they were and still are.

I regret that I shall go to my grave never knowing exactly what the insurrectionists hoped to accomplish by smearing feces on the walls.

Ta, Marcie. We shall *never* forget. Never, ever. It is totally unsurprising that so many of the losers who invaded our capital (in the Capitol) are criminals. Their crimes, too, are unsurprising. The only thing I found missing from your piece is the involvement of Virginia "vergonha" Thomas. Ginni T (through her organization, whose name I can't be arsed to look up) funded the buses that brought a lot of these stinky turds to Washington. Yes, Mrs Thomas, wife of Corrupt Clarence. Vergonha, indeed.

Gravel Influencer on Bluesky:

I heard an NPR reporter refer to January 6th as "perhaps the most videotaped crime in history" which is a really good way to drive home just how ridiculous and brazen the Republican attempts to rewrite history have been.

do people really fall for that 'tough man' talk that just screams micro penis energy? i mean, how much do you have to hear before you start wondering if you are OVER compensating and everyone is laughing at you

I have the ingredients for carbonara but I don’t have the ambition.

HELP!

I had never had carbonara, only read about it, because I've been vegan for most of my life. Now, however, there are very decent nondairy cheeses, milks, creams, meats, and most important for pasta carbonara, egg from plants (it's called Just Egg, and it has changed my life in a small way). Husband Meccalopolis became vegan at the perfect moment.

Speaking of my darling, tonight he made garlicky arugula and cabbage cooked with portobello and shiitake mushrooms, to serve with the last pieces of the Mexican lasagne we made upstate. I had the last of the New Year cassoulet for lunch, with a first course of arugula and grape tomato salad. I still laugh when someone finds out we're vegan and asks, so what do you eat?

We do plant based meals and vegetarian meals and then a couple of meat meals over the course of a week. Trying to minimize our consumption of meat is a goal. We’re working on it. ❤️

is the alternative to carbonara more appealing? i mean, if its a choice between carbonara or a sammich, i'd go the carbonara

I have chopped ham, really good ham, two onions, celery. I have an orange pepper sitting on the cutting board, three cans of beans (two black, one garbanzo) sitting next to the cutting board, carrots in the refrigerator, and I am currently reclining on the couch in front of the fire.

It was gonna be soup, but I’m also considering mixing is into a baking dish and putting it in the oven after I’ve sautéed the veggies. And then some grated cheese on top of that. Dollop of sour cream.

But honestly, right now? It may as well be served on the moon.

that sounds good - if you whisk some eggs to add it to the mix and whack it in the oven it would be perfik (but the fire is also nice)

I had wondered about eggs when I envisioned that! It turns out that soup was as far as my ambition took me. I rinsed the beans and put them in there, looked at it with that I know something is missing feeling, and then added a generous dollop of salsa.

This made a huge pot, and I hope I can freeze some of it. . I think tomorrow I can experiment with making a casserole out of some of this.

They erected a gallows.

A gallows.

That’s not something you do on the spur of the moment. That takes planning.

They were planning this before the election was over. During the debates, trump said "stand bY." The only thing that saved our government was that most of these seditionists, and trump, are horrible organizers. They can't run anything.

riiight, AB was killed as in 'she was an innocent bystander' and not part of a violent mob, and didn't put herself directly in harms way. while i don't condone killing people, if she hadn't been shot, the people with her would have escalated to a kind of blood bath that would have ended in loss of life from congress and the house. by shooting her, the officers established the stakes clearly and the people there lost some of that mob mentality
