On the subject of "modern society is hostile to child rearing" - Historian Nicole Rudolph did a great explanation of why "nuclear family" is not the antithesis of Pride Month the way the Goopers are pretending it is, but actually was created as a term in opposition to the "extended family" that society had for thousands of years before. And it had negative connotations among conservatives.
