And without doubt all these trashy people think slavery - the U.S. brand, black chattel slavery to white people - was just fine. Perfectly moral, of course. The Bible justifies it so whaddya say to that?

And all the god-bothering Christian Nationalist pastors are fine with unprovoked armed invasion, genocide and rigid religious law, since the Bible justifies - hell, REQUIRES - it.

Just two of 'em, the thoroughly revolting Joel Webbon and the also disgusting Joshua Haymes, firmly take the position that " ... we cannot condemn the entire institution of slavery outright ... because the Bible does not do that."

For a certain bet, they are both fantasising about a world in which slavery has made a comeback but THEY are not slaves, they are slave-masters. If they magically became slaves themselves, under any system of slavery in human history, they'd discover moral objections to it soon enough, and stop caring what the hell the Bible had to say on the subject.

My father went to war against the Nazi Reich in 1940 and again in 1950 against Chinese Communists. I know the difference between Nazis, Communists, and American and Western European Democracies. If Vance wants to be a Nazi or a Communist, he will need to do it in Russia or China, because we do not like authoritarian governments.

I wonder what anti-Muslim, anti-Sikh edgy jokes JD is coaching his half-Indian son to say, while consoling him for the racist jokes his classmate make about him? Boys will be boys. BTW, OT, JD is a pudgy beardo. There I said it. But heck it's just the kind silly edgy thing that old coots say. Stop clutching your pearls. It's the dementia talking. P.S., OT, just learned that my friend and colleague, a European art historian with international credentials, can no longer travel to the US because of a Facebook post about he who shall not be named.

For all the superiority complex abusers express they are actually inferior, harmful living creatures, and lack the capability to perceive this. When an abuser harms another living being they also harm themselves. On a micro level this is shown how genes are changed, and not for better, where the next generation can get these genes which then create the environment that many experts blame partially for abuser's behaviors and intergenerational abuse.

If there is a God, God is super intelligent to ensure that what we do to another effects us, even if we do not see it, an opposite and equal reaction always occurs. Look to be truly superior? Be kind.

None of this is a joke. Nobody is kidding. They are all adults. The threat of an autocracy modeled on Nazi Germany is here and it's name is Donald Trump. Everything he does is an attack on the American people.

“…the people who said Indian people do not bathe.”

I wonder if these people have ever thought about how “shampoo” is kind of a funny word, and why that might be.

J Davenport Vance can't condemn violent rhetoric, because he WANTS violent rhetoric. He and the rest of the assholes have to keep it cranking higher and higher to stay in the news.

JD Vance calling a 35-year-old staffer a “kid” for saying “I love Hitler” is like calling Jeffrey Dahmer a picky eater.

These aren’t teenagers sneaking beers behind the gym. They’re grown men with receding hairlines and state senate seats. When your master race fantasy includes Rogaine subscriptions, maybe the Ubermensch application got lost in the mail.

And the whole “just joking” defense? That’s not edgy, that’s middle school locker-room energy with a taxpayer-funded salary. If you’re old enough to collect a pension, you’re old enough to be responsible for your mouth.

Blessed be the comedians they want to ban, because the punchline has always been fascists who can dish it out but shrivel the second they’re the joke.

So a bunch of 25-30 year olds, the “future” of conservative politics, are lathering each other up with open hatred for minorities, Jews and gay people, praising mass murderer Adolf Hitler and basically showing everyone who we knew the modern GOP to be, and the VP can’t bring himself to simply tell them to be better. “I don’t condone that talk, and it’s not who we are as a party. These young people need to be better and apologize for the people they hurt.” See? It’s not that hard. Except when you don’t actually disagree with that cruel hatred, and you are too afraid of their ire to be a leader.

I, and 90% of the people I know, would make such better elected officials, if the mere thought of that world wasn’t so horrific. It’s a shame more good, inspiring and gifted people don’t step forward to lead.
