That baby murderer in Mississippi is walking around today, doing his job, living his life, eating food, enjoying a laugh. I don't know what we're to do anymore.
HuffPost: "Trump on Wednesday joined the G7 working session late, entering the room a few minutes after the meeting got underway. "I'm the boss," Trump jokingly said before taking his seat next to French President Emmanuel Macron. As the press was being escorted out of the room, Trump told journalists: "Would you like to stay for the meeting? It's ok with me."
The president joined the meeting after firing off a lengthy Truth Social post attacking both Democrats and Republicans. Trump sent the post as most world leaders had already gathered in the room for this morning's working session."
Ta, Evan. Ta, Martini. I'm sipping my flowery green tea and soon I'll craft a luscious fruit bowl. I miss my husband bringing me breakfast. I miss my husband even more after seeing his beautiful face on my phone last night. Tomorrow I'll be in his arms, and he in mine. Good day, beloved Wonketteers. We love and appreciate you all and we bless us all with love, health, peace, and grace.
Please, please stay safe. Wear a mask or two, wash your hands, sanitize when you cannot wash and let the sanitizer dry completely, stop touching your face, take Vitamin D, get a booster shot six months after your last and catch up on any other vaccines you need (and if there are children in your life, make sure they're vaccinated also, too), avoid indoor and crowded outdoor gatherings and when you must meet, remove masks only to eat, drink, and take quick photos, and stay the fuck away from us and anyone with whom you do not share a roof. Do this because you love yourself, and because we love you, too. Do this in memory of 27 Club member Treg and heroic Tony, Holly's pilot friend, among nearly eight million dead worldwide. Do this to honor the nurses and other frontline medical personnel (we adore you, all medicos of Wonkette, active and retired), especially ICU Hera Mrs Land Shark, RN. Stay safe.
"The U.S. carried out more than 1,000 strikes in the first 24 hours of the war before settling into a tempo of 300 to 500 strikes a day in the four weeks that followed. Israel, which relies on the U.S. for weapons, also burned through a large number of munitions, stockpiles of which are now extremely low.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies estimates it will take until 2030 to replace the U.S. military’s Tomahawk missiles (at a cost of $3.5 million apiece), and until 2029 to restock Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) and Patriot missile defense systems.
That has had repercussions elsewhere. In May, acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao ordered a pause on U.S. weapons sales to Taiwan. And Ukraine, long since cut off from Patriots by the Trump administration, is now developing its own alternative."
The DOJ's use of the word "antifa" shows that their target audience is stupid people, and that they are stupid themselves. These charges will be dismissed.
Western Gulf water temps down. All the storm activity may be sucking energy and moisture out of the water. Do you have to ask where t is going? Texas Wonkers drive carefully if the water is over the road.
Knowing a woman who drowned when water was over the road, a whole field away from the creek, and that water carried her Jeep right away, don't drive over water.
TBF, I’m 100% sure Teddy Roosevelt said the words “there,” “is,” “no,” “try,” “only” and “do” many many times in his life. Just not necessarily in that order.
"RFK Jr: We had lots of guns when we were kids. Kids brought guns to school and were encouraged to do so."
So, my sweetie and I have talked about this quite a few times. I grew up in a small city in the Puget Sound; she grew up in a military-heavy town in Hawaii. We both knew kids who brought guns, if not into the school, with them when they drove to school. Can't say the school ENCOURAGED this, but there wasn't any push back either. They'd leave their rifles (not handguns) in their trucks, unlocked. No one every went to grab the guns in a fight; no one really thought about it.
In part I attribute this to none of them feeling like they needed to prove their manhood by brandishing a weapon; in part I attribute this to the good "gun sense" taught in their families and by the then-not-terrible NRA. (this was the 1970s). I certainly don't see the tie to mental health medications - seems like RFKjr has the cart before the unicorn...
Perhaps since it's a White man talking people who perhaps could've been paying attention this whole time & saved the nation a whole lot of turmoil might be interested in listening
He was the single “not guilty” vote (out of 6 jurors total) at the beginning of their deliberations, but managed to swing the rest of the jurors to his perspective.
The prosecutor relied almost exclusively on appeals to emotion and theoreticals about what evidence could exist, but did not produce the actual evidence.
The person who pressed charges to create this case in the first place seemed like an irrationally angry person and possibly dishonest about the events that occurred.
Seemed like a vindictive reaction to an employee deciding they weren’t going to be strong armed into an unfair and unacceptable/untenable work situation, so was electing to quit. The employer freaked out and acted badly and escalated the situation, then felt the need to press charges to save face and try to create a different narrative about the situation.
My partner kept reminding the other jurors that this shouldn’t have even become a court case. The employer who pressed charges was wasting their time & taxpayer resources over his hurt ego.
The defendant cried at the “not guilty” verdict.
The prosecutor exclaimed, “WOOooOOoow!” in disbelief right in the direction of the jury box. Very professional. :P
Mr. TL said he had to dash from the courtroom himself at dismissal to avoid crying in public.
What is the purpose of ICE filing charges against Minnesotans who had exercised their constitutional right to free speech? Do they think that filing charges against people is going to frighten other cities into submission? Can't wait to see how that works in, say, NYC. This just looks like another, pull-the-hammer-and-shoot-own-foot move. I mean, why wouldn't ICE like to keep the murders of Goode and Pretti front and center? In the press.
"What is the purpose of ICE filing charges against Minnesotans who had exercised their constitutional right to free speech? Do they think that filing charges against people is going to frighten other cities into submission? "
They hope for it
They also hope to punish the people who protested by process -- like they did Don Lemon and Georgia Fort
The next time someone Black, echoing Niemoller, mentions that "if the fascists aren't stopped when they come for Black people they will then come for EVERYONE" -- perhaps the EVERYONE who didn't really pay attention or give much of a **** when the facists came for the Black people will listen
Assuming at that point there's still time to push back
They seem to think these prosecutions will chill the speech and conduct of other people who oppose this regime.
But the fact that they mostly keep losing and will probably have to pay the court fees and wrongful prosecution payouts to all these defendants probably will not have that effect.

Please thank Mr rawTL for his service and tell him we are very impressed
No, really -- during this time of complete turmoil in the country true champions of justice are needed
Will do.
I have told him repeatedly I am super impressed by his ability to shape this jury into an instrument of justice, instead of a rubber stamp.
