He's loathsome all the way around. I've hated him since first seeing him on some show the late '90s, and nothing he's done since has changed my initial impression of him one bit.
He makes a daily ass of himself in front of the entire world; anyone else capable of introspection would have died a thousand deaths rather than make a fool of themselves like this, but he just keeps on thinking he's wonderful. He makes the case against himself every time he starts twattering.
Point of order re: the Illinois governor. We haven't actually passed a budget since the last governor was in office in 2014. It's even more special than the above might indicate.
I agree - I find my self on the same page with her on issue after issue, and think she was perhaps our most talented Speaker of the House; she really understood how to use that job to get her party's agenda trhough. But her public speaking voice and demeanor grates on me.
Like many, she comes across much better in more casual interactions. It's her "I'm being interviewed" self that is the worst, and her "making a public announcement" presentation isn't much better.
And it being legal ties into the water usage issue, which is big here. Illegal growers were using lots of water in places with shortages; now it'll become easier to track that.
