'I don't know, but I've been told / Donald Trump is made of mold!' California Gov. Jerry Brown is fine with sending some of the state's National Guard troops to patrol along the US-Mexico border. Just not for the immigrant-hunting mission Donald Trump thinks is suddenly a huge military priority. But sure, Brown announced in a
There are so very, very many problems that Trump just refuses to notice.

Ive been here for my 45 years, aside from the two years I lived in STL. Voting would definitely help, but it seems there’s more to it than that. While everybody to the right of George McGovern claims that Madigan is funneling every tax dollar into Chicago, there is no pushback. It’s like they enjoy half the population thinking our government is corrupt.
Poor "Joey M." I'm glad (only not) he had a happy about scary Black men getting what's coming to them by stepping into a coffee shop, because HOW DARE THEY, but dangit, they should arrest all the Browns too! Because! As a fellow immigrant, can't say I truly see the menace.
As I understand it, the Posse Comitatus Act was passed in response to the end of the military occupation of the Confederate states by the US Army during the Reconstruction. As soon as southern congressmen could reach an agreement with the federal government, they set it as a priority to prohibit any future President or Congress from imposing federal troops on any state. Eisenhower used an exception to the Posse Comitatus Act, derived from the Enforcement Acts, to send federal troops into Little Rock during the 1957 school desegregation crisis. The Enforcement Acts allow the President to call up military forces when state authorities are either unable or unwilling to suppress violence that is in opposition to the constitutional rights of the people.
After studying this all afternoon, I personally think Trump has exceeded his authority, but I am not a civil rights attorney.
They also congregate downtown around the services and shelters. It's pretty bad and the City acknowledges them and doesn't try to sweep them under the rug or chase them out of town. No idea what they will do about it but they are trying.
There are still many many taco trucks and most of them are good.
An underappreciated oddity I've researched a bit is that the Baja California peninsula is more accessible from the US side of the California border than from the rest of Mexico. As a result, the area has a relatively small permanent population with debatable loyalties to the nation as a whole. Unsurprisingly, these considerations figured in several attempts by the US to annex the territory.
We stayed downtown, at the Marriott located on B and 7th.
I did not see anyone giving the homeless a hard time. Police presence was very low key everywhere in city. Surprisingly, I hear many more sirens at home than I did in San Diego. Least alarms that I can remember in any urban area.

Many, many of whom voted for Trump.
The ones who voted for Trump knew he planned to hurt people. They just figured it would be OTHER people.
Maintenance... meaning that observers would get used to seeing big vehicles coming and going, and have no obvious reason to summon authorities.

Trump doesn't care about no fucking laws. Nor, it appears, does the Repub Congress.
Was it because Arpaio was a sheriff, so he was the only real law?
No kidding!
And you certainly are not trying to link Trump and the Twitter Trash Trolls with friends.

Unusual chin-to-bicep size ratio.
Disrupt=replace every 5 middle class wage earners with one super-rich person!
