We were going to put some Easter songs here for ya, Wonkzards, but when you google "easter songs," it comes back with a MESS of songs about "His Crimson Blood" and "His Blood Came In Rivers" and "Oh My God, The Blood, So Much Blood, The Blood." So we figured we'd keep it simple, stupid. Have some Miss Mahalia and praise Him what made her possible amen.
I'm an atheist and a Jew, bred in the bone, but I went to hear Mahalia Jackson sing at her church in Chicago when I was a kid, and it damn near brought me to Jesus.
Except I can't even say that and leave it alone, because you're absolutely freakin' right. They may be the pinnacle of capitalistic achievement.
When you live with a rabbit (or 24 of them, as I did a few years ago) you lose the ability to pretend rabbit pellets resemble anything other than feces. That can roll.
I've always thought of music as color blind.. I've played music and done sound for other musicians from all over the world, just about every race, creed, color, religion- you name it. Often we couldn't understand a word each other said. There have been times where I've come off a nice set of improvisational jamming and couldn't say more than a few halting words to some of the other musicians involved. We couldn't speak each other's language, but we'd just chuckle because we all knew that for the last hour or so we just had quite the conversation.
Courts are open in the US on Good Friday?? Wow. Everything comes to a halt in Canada. Which is great, because as a teacher I get a 4 day holiday (Monday too)!! Whoo hoo!!
