I agree -- but I think, had he not been in office at that specific time, he would have had more achievements that match to his character. Regardless, the man is a hero.

Oh yeah. As a president, he just about held the line and that's it. Given the circumstances, he might not have been able to do much else, who can say.However, he is the only person I can think of who has used the highest executive office as a springboard to a larger and more prolific international public service career.
