This is not a win. This is a bait-and-switch. I'll bet you a paycheck that the plan is to stop the LNG plant now, brag to all the environmental voters how wonderful Biden and the Democrats are for the environment, then sucker environmentalists out of their time, money, and votes.

After Biden is re-elected, the plant will magically pass all reviews and be opened and fired up.

If you believe that the Biden Administration and the Democrats are really serious about this, you are a damned fool.

I don't know if it's because of 'degree in rhetoric' or just because it's happy news, but policy isn't usually so easy to follow-- that was like a Simenon novel.

Did I ever tell the wonketariat about my friend from a tiny town in Tennessee (I think) whose mother's small house burst into flames? There was fracking, small earthquakes, then this house exploding while her mother chatted with the mailman in the yard. Facts were sort of cloudy and I kept asking her more and more-- till she said "the house only cost $30,000 to replace!"

These mysteries come with stories from regions we're not used to-- but the story about the fire did come up in connection with the issue of fracking-- that I do remember.

"If anything, this is a huge favor to fossil investors: As the transition to clean energy accelerates, Joe Biden has prevented a whole bunch of unnecessary LNG terminals from becoming stranded assets in the next decade or two."

This is the angle that strengthens the move to green energy: corporations saving greenbacks.

I think it's true that if we don't deliver gas to Europe, who have been buying it from Russia for decades, they are going to have a massive switch-over to oil and coal, so that should be considered in the analysis. Gas, as bad as it is, can't be directly substituted with renewables yet, but is a bridge to a time when it is no longer needed. We have to consider short term and long term effects. When it comes to stranded assets through, the fuel itself may become the biggest stranded asset in history.

Thanks for the good news update, Dok, and by the way, THANKS FOR KEEPING THOSE CATS COMING!

Every time the Republicans lie about this, the Democrats need to counter with "They want to ship American energy out of the country and make you pay more!"

I don't get R's complaints. "We must be energy independent, more drilling/fracking!" "We must export all the energy that we produce by more drilling/fracking!"

An hour ago I told the #2 person in our small company that his idea that "they" want a new world order and one world government was, and I quote, fucking stupid. It felt good, I must say.

"When Habba continued to imply that Carroll lied about the assault for fame, the judge replied that "the fact that Mr. Trump sexually assaulted Ms. Carroll is established." When Habba pushed back, the judge reprimanded her, saying "You will not quarrel with me".

When you get through bankrupting PAB, may I suggest sanctioning this moronic hag?

I breathlessly await a barrage of deranged tweets from my Congressman, Clay WHAR BOXES?? Higgins, about how this is proof that Biden is in cahoots with the ChiComs and this will make everyone in the state unemployed (not that he supports UBI or even better unemployment benefits) and we should all arm ourselves for secession. Probably something in there about another one of Wife #5's "prophetic dreams".
