They couldn't be bothered to even mention her name. And after gobbling up what was, to my mind, the slightly better NPR station to the south and then bragging about how they've somehow 'increased' our options - nope, didn't give them a dime during this last drive. Don't think I will be any time soon, either.
Pretty sure WCPN is but a memory now. They took on the call letters of WKSU but replaced that station with the Ideastream corporate entity. I really enjoyed having a choice of public radio; if one was airing a show I wasn't interested in, I could almost always switch to the other. And my car is old enough I have to physically plug a phone in if I want to stream - too much trouble to find something else omw to work in the morning.
I keep my car on WCLV all week, until 5:00 on Fridays when I switch to classic rock for the weekend because you can usually catch a Michael Stanley tune during Friday drive time. Admittedly, you don't get much news from WCLV, but I'm a classical music nut. When I'm not a classic rock nut
For sure, WaPo had some ludicrous tale this morning that said 50% of Americans want the USA to be a "Christian nation". Christ is my teacher and I say fuck that noise.
I think you mean to say *blue* cities. We're doing our damnedest to overcome being gerrymandered into obscurity; plus, we're not exactly lacking for culture up here. But I absolutely understand the worry, particularly where the Oh Supreme Court is concerned.
The only way that corporations will flee these places is if they cannot even get remote brains because no one wants to be associated with a company that tacitly supports vile policies. I have my doubts about that more attenuated effect being widespread, though.
The business of business is business, and companies will follow the perks and tax breaks as long as they can have the workforce they need. Tech is uniquely suited to remote work at the top and factory work can be carried out by blue collar workers stuck in RTW states.
I would certainly hope that there would be this sort of effect, but I think that if we wait for corporate influence to matter that we will just be waiting.
America is already the biggest chip manufacturer in the world! https://uploads.disquscdn.c...
Oh, I'd forgotten him. But as soon as you say (er, type) it, I know exactly who you mean.

My radio rarely leaves the left end of the dial. WKSU for news, college radio for music, WKHR if for some reason none of the others will do.
