He was lucky that 32 Republicans sided with him on a bill that greatly benefited their constituents. At least they will have actual legislation to run on if they decide to run in 2022 or 2024. For the other Republicans, all they will have is "We owned the libs" when bridges collapse and they can't work from home because of crappy internet service. Only one Republican in the Senate has signed on for BBB and it doesn't look like they will get any more. So it looks like owning the libs is all they will have to show for even better programs. Something Manchin and Sinema can also boast of.

There was $485 million earmarked to replace the bridge in Obama's ARA funding. Four parties were deciding how to spend it, Portland, Washington State, Oregon all wanted light rail. Vancouver, WA RWNJs said no deal. A half a billion dollars went away.

The deal was both bills would pass at the same time. The GOP and Manchinema reneged, and Pelosi and Biden too for that matter. If BBB eventually passes I’ll be wrong. But I’m not. It’s never going to pass. It’s bipartisan in that both parties screwed us over. That said take what you can get and move on.

They don’t care. They know we have to continue to kiss their voluminous rumps if we want to hold the antebellum Senate. Personally I think we should call their bluff, at least if we lost the antebellum Senate Biden would have to figure out how to get things done without pandering to its every racist sexist whim.

It sounds like he is confusing Democrats with Republicans who voted for the infrastructure bill. Yeah, some Republicans signed their political death warrant by voting to help their constituents, but I doubt any Democrats will lose because they are replacing 80 year old bridges Grand PA, building electric vehicle charging stations in Grand MA, bringing high speed internet to Bumfuck KS, or updating the failing sewer system in Shithole Junction AL.

When the money actually gets spent, the GOP Assholes (Redundant?)that didn't Vote for the Bill will run to the front of the Parade to claim credit.

Sorry, not allowing any rain on my parade today

My president - once Barack Obama's loyal VP - just signed something wonderful into law. This law is going to hand a huge pile of cash to my former House rep, now HUD Secretary, Marcia Fudge that she will be able to use to serve the people of this country the way she served the people of my district. It will also give Dems around the country something to run on regardless of what happens with BBB.

Meanwhile my new House rep, Shontel Brown, cast her first vote for my Biden's BFD historic law and has taken her place as the newest member of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Sorry but I feel good.

BTW, he wasn't lucky. Joe Biden is good at this shit and it's time some folks admitted that.

I wonder if possibly, just possibly, Chuck Todd is an asshole.

I have no opinion at this time but what do you think?

I'm with you, Marceline. OHJB is doing a bang-up job, and Ms. Nancy is the BOSS.

Still a shit-ton of work to do, and it's uphill, barefoot in the snow both ways, but at least we've got a few folks who know how to get shit done and know where the snowshoes are hidden.

We did a Madison/Adams loop this time which was really great. Lots of rock scrambling which is always fun! I actually like hiking Washington. We up for the second time, but there was so much fog that we hardly saw anyone on the way up. Saw plenty on the way down though. Photo is on Jewell Trail https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

That sounds sweet! I'm sure we will get back that way again-we've still got peaks to bag!
