True. But he counts as a Dem in determining which party controls the Senate and that is important.

Besides, if we didn't have him we would almost certainly have a Repub instead.

That's kind of a Pyrrhic victory when he votes with Repuglicans.

This guy just loves the attention, doesn't he? He fancies himself as an independent, but he's just another narcissist. https://media3.giphy.com/me...

you're right, joe manchin, all of this spending is way too much, let's start by cutting out all the money that's going to west virginia. can we close some military bases there, maybe cancel a few highway repairs. maybe you should go to all the good citizens of WV and ask them to give back those stimulus checks, since I'm sure they're just as concerned about inflation as you are

I have been fortunate enough to not see any such defenses. Seen some bullshit excuses on here, though. "Stop focusing on Manchin and Sinema! They're not up for re-election until 2024! ARGLEBARGLE!" like it matters when they're up for re-election if they're stalling the democrat agenda right now.

What if we made a real mind control vaccine, but only put it in Joe Manchin so we could get him to abolish the filibuster and expand the court etc. etc..

That's just fanfiction you tell yourself because scapegoating Manchin is simple and easy. And because at the end of the day there is absolutely nothing anyone can do to pressure him. At the end of the day, Manchin will do what he pleases. Fortunately, it pleases him to support Biden.

I wish people would stop fixating on Manchin and Sinema and direct that energy into more useful pursuits.

He likes to be the centre of attention. Which is why he's trying to stand in the way of legislation that could help the Dems gain Senate seats.

Exactly. I care about the objectives that help the Dems get elected. Not letting these two idiots appeal to “bipartisanship”

"Perhaps you believe that the hidden hand of the market is going to fix this?"

If that's what you took away from what I wrote, you didn't understand it at all.

I suspect you're viewing this as a moral cause and not a problem that needs to be solved. Enough people do that and we all die.

If Republicans can be RINOs, then Manchin would be called a DINO, right?

Remember when we didn't spend enough in 2009, and blew a lot of what we did spend on tax breaks? Good times!!!

How did that turn out for Dems in 2010, anyway? 😈

It has been tough on poor Manchin so far supporting Biden, seeing that 63% of his "Biden" votes so far have been nomination advancements and the vast majority of the other votes were ceremonial, or just advances the legislation to committee. I know, that is all he can vote on now, because it is all that has come to the floor, but he historically votes against his majority at least 39% of the time, far more than any other "Democrat" Senator. Thanks for the 61% Joe, you fuck head.
