Out of curiosity, I did a Google for “today’s news headlines” and clicked on New York Times. The Trump submarine secrets story isn’t at the top. It’s near the middle. The top story is the jobs report, followed by gloom and doom about inflation and jittery markets, then stuff about the latest Republican bs, then something about an Iranian winning a Nobel prize. They take a minute to arrive at this beauty:
Trump Said to Have Revealed Nuclear Submarine Secrets to Australian Businessman
Soon after leaving office, the former president shared sensitive information about American submarines with a billionaire member of Mar-a-Lago, according to people familiar with the matter.
I love how the headline states “Trump is SAID to have revealed” but the subheader flat out says he shared it. Our mainstream media needs to start acting responsibly.
"Mr. Kelly, when then-President Trump made any of those statements, why didn't you resign and hold a press conference to inform the American people why you could no longer be a part of the administration?"
At least my father who was a combat infantryman and fought in France and Germany in WWII was spared this. He was pissed throughout his life at the 4F celebrities who had a fine time during the war and he left a wife and child. Not to mention the shit he saw when his unit liberated Dachau extermination camp. Fuck You Trump

Also, it's standard operating procedure for the minority party to vote against a majority's speaker, whether filling the seat or vacating it. It would be incredibly bad messaging for Ds to support Kevvie after all the BS he's pulled (reneging on his deal with the President, blaming the Ds for the near-shutdown, etc.)
There was some speculation they might abstain (telling the GOP "this sounds like a you problem") but only if McCarthy introduced a Ukraine funding bill, like, first thing Monday morning-- then McCarthy went on the Sunday shows to remind everyone he is an untrustworthy shitweasel (I know, "shitweasel libelz!").
The consequences of leaving McCarthy in place were not going to be great either. He was not capable of giving Democrats the slightest reason to think he could make a bargain and stick to it.
Still waiting for anyone besides MSNBC hosts to call out the lunatic things Trump says as completely unhinged. Just reporting them as though they are just another opinion is ludicrous. Start harping on Trumps age if you are continuously going to report that "people are concerned about Biden's."
