The GOP is so Flexible. King makes the argument that 600,000 to 700,000 dead Americans is more important and more tragic than some lost wages due to being held as slaves. Current GOP including King are making the argument that a 105,000 dead Americans are nothing compared to the sorrow and tragedy of a struggling economy.
That flexibility thing must be great. You can never be pinned down on anything because you're either for or against everything depending on the moment.
