Delta Force spent a year practicing the raid and actually managed to trick Khatallah into letting the team into the compound, allowing them to capture him without firing a shot. The "we love the troops" crowd has no problem dissing Delta Force and questioning their ability to plan and execute a mission.
They also conveniently neglect to mention that since Khatallah has no provable links to al Qaeda, Bamz did not have the authority to kill or capture him under the 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force against al Qaeda. So they had to do it the old fashioned way and build a criminal case and indict- the Justice Department needed the time to gather enough evidence to secure the indictment.
