Jon Stewart is on top of all the latest hot issues in the midterms, like the Iowa debate between Senate contenders Joni Ernst and Bruce Braley, where each tried to out-folksy the other. Or the exciting process of introducing doomed legislation largely for the purpose of running on it, or slamming opponents for having voted against it: "Congress has now greatly simplified the process for passing laws, in that it does not."
Exactly that. It really makes me wonder why the electorate keep electing these duds with R's next to their names. At least in the old days, the Rethugs used to vote on legislation that, even if it screwed the little-guy, could be explained away as "good for business" or some such nonsense. The bums can't even be bothered to expend that minimal effort any longer. But they still get paid. Nice work if you can get it.
Well, what do you expect? They have to spend all their time on the phone soliciting campaign contributions so that they can be re-elected to do nothing again.
Yep, they don't pass laws anymore. And the GOP plan calls for electing more people who promise to never do any work once elected.
