it's his thing, philosophically. He uses it to justify and naturalize social hierarchies, because he's an asshole. Deleuze and Guattari did a much better lobster gig.

He's driven by youtube ratings, not academic concerns. Dude must have made millions riding the weird wave that was generated by the convergence of the alt-right, MRA tossers, and the so-called 'skeptic community' after gamergate. That moment seems to have passed and now left-tube is on the ascent.

You're right, because his fans aren't harmless. And his are all these young white males. Who thinks he's an adamant anti-feminist...

Which he might be. I just think he's a Canadian confused about the entire American society. And an egoist.

I should be shocked that he went with a song entitled "happy" several hours after a mass murder.

But I ain't, so there.

It's selective memory on his part, again. He conveniently ignores the fact that these assholes have always gravitated to conservatives. Always.

Oh, oh -- the Robert De Niro one, I can't remember the details but I think it followed the novel a bit closer than the 1931 Boris Karloff film. But I think the '31 film and its 1935 sequel captured the pathos a bit better.

Hatred and mistreatment primed the pump, so to speak, but it was Victor's refusal to build him a companion that really pushed him over the edge. IIRC, all his killings in the novel were directly intended as acts of vengeance against Victor (or self-defense).

Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein, its sequel, together cover about 80% of the novel, albeit with a fair amount of changes. For example, the Creature is quite intelligent and articulate in the novel, which makes him feel his rejection by all of humanity all the worse. The book's a bit of a slog in places, but it's well worth the time.

For quite some time people have been calling into Peterson's podcast/radio show to ask him about his views on 'the Jewish question.' That he still responds to these instances with confusion beggars belief.

You can't have it both ways Jordan. You can't dogwhistle these guys constantly and then try to distance yourself from them when they do something horrible.

Billy used to be a nice guy. I knew the whole band, vaguely. Same circles and all that. I think Jimmy was having some drug problems during the "fuck you" hand days.
