Presidents usually do a WH event with major sport championships. I would almost root for SF just to see Colin get into Hair Drumphs face. Not going to happen this year.

I think we're pretty far down that road and it is disturbing. Not confined to Republicans either. It is very hard to back out of too - who is going to run on "we are worshipping the military too much".

Right? I know! It's just nutty! ps who doesn't love cheap whiskey and potatoes? I mean really. My people on the other hand brought pastrami and powerful dill pickles, but we're subhuman too! In fact I believe we're actually vermin, but we also control the world's banking, so there's that.

I've always had extremely complicated feelings about the military, but I reluctantly accept the need to have one. And I certainly admit it takes balls to sign up for that. The fawning, though - ick. Do people go around thanking policemen and firemen? Because THOSE guys have a lot more to do with people's daily safety.
