Judith Miller will never shut up. Just like Draft Dodger Dick Cheney will never shut up, still crapping on anyone who isn't hungry for more war and dispensing with his 'awesome' military advice to any boob who will listen ( Fox News). And the scariest part of all, I doubt either one of them has lost a moment's sleep over this mess, the mess THEY CREATED that killed HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. I would lose sleep if I had killed one person. Then again, I have this thing they call a soul.
A week ago I made the mistake of reading an excerpt from her book. I kind of wanted to clean my eyes with bleach.
I did get sincere enjoyment out of her argument which basically went "The Bush administration didn't lie! They just decided to only run with the information that was convenient for them!"
True story: I used to work for non-profit that worked on preserving and archiving historical documents and artifacts connected to certain military projects. We were largely funded by the military industrial complex and various energy interests, but were an ostensibly independent and 'academic' type institution.
Judy Miller did a story on us, which at the time wasn't really her beat, but whatever. The Times sent Miller to write the story, and when the Times wants to give your small organization some major publicity, you don't ask questions. When she arrived to interview my boss, I was sent down to the lobby to greet her and keep her company until the appointment started. During our uncomfortable small talk about her travel accommodations she leaned over and whispered to me, "Don't worry. I'm on your guys' side."
At the time, I was so naive that I didn't understand the organization even had a "side" and I had absolutely no idea why a prominent, apparently professional journalist would be so cavalier about her bias. When the Iraq War nonsense broke out, I remembered her name from the time we met and suddenly that encounter was a lot more stark in its implications.
I know, I remember looking at my husband and saying, "Your president and his whole fucking administration are lying through their teeth". He was never my president.
I can't believe he just let her sit there and defend herself.

but c.hayes was not prepared with facts to challenge her "the intell.community was unanimously wrong; what's a girl to do?!" line.

and c.hayes doubled-down by not inviting say ray mcgovern or larry wilkerson to at least call out her lies afterwards.
