I'm afraid we now live in a time where anyone who is not strutting around in full SS drag, complete with swastikas and shiny black leather, can claim to be moderate.

We have to start teaching about the Holocaust in every single school.

So many people lack knowledge, it's disgusting.

Hear me out…Poole’s “I’m a moderate” schtick could backfire. Because anyone who thinks of themselves as a moderate may look at him and think, “Oh shit, is THAT what moderate is now? Even though I used to call myself a centrist Republican, if that’s the center of the spectrum now I guess I’m a Democrat and I should just vote that way.” Or even, as I pretty much do, “Wow, if that’s the middle of the road now I guess I’m not a centrist Democrat any more, I’m actually quite liberal now. Democratic Socialism, sign me up!”

So he might turn out to be useful for something after all? I admire your optimism.

Trump has turned my moderate republican brother into a leftist, and I'm still wrapping my head around that.

A notorious far-right activist has been hit with a lawsuit alleging he violated campaign finance law as part of his push to oust liberal state judges.

Scott Presler, who founded the political action committee Early Vote Action, allegedly ran a coordinated campaign urging voters to reject retention of Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, both Democrats, and David Wecht — at the time a Democrat but now an independent — during a high-stakes election that could have flipped control of the judiciary in America's largest swing state.

Presler, who has pushed election conspiracy theories and has ties to the extremist QAnon movement, is a figure with a long history of controversy. In 2016, he was dismissed from a field office role by the Republican Party of Virginia after he was allegedly caught hooking up with men in a Virginia Beach campaign office and posting explicit images of the incident on Craigslist.

Yet all three PASC justices won their retention elections. Even Wecht, considering that he's a huge flake, and not in a charming way.

He claims he left the Democratic Party earlier this year because of its "growing antisemitism." In other words, some in the party lack unquestioning fealty to Netanyahu and the Likud Party.

I just can’t understand how anyone with half a brain, and I assume a fucking state supreme court justice qualifies, cannot understand the difference between the Jewish state and the Jewish people. Think about it this way: When we defeated the German state in WWII, did we go through the country prosecuting every German citizen for war crimes? No, because we didn’t hate them, and they were starving and freezing and many/most of them had nothing to do with the war. We provided food and shelter, and helped rebuild their infrastructure and industry. That’s the difference between hating the country and hating the people.

WTF?

“Florida Congressman Randy Fine was going door to door looking for votes ... and somehow ended up rifling through a voter's mail,” TMZ reported Tuesday.

In a video that has since gone viral, a man who TMZ identified as Fine can be seen ringing the homeowner’s doorbell before stepping toward a mailbox mounted on the porch wall. The man identified as Fine stands mostly still for about 15 seconds before opening the mailbox and rifling through envelopes.

“Rep. Fine isn't shown removing, tampering with, or inserting anything ... so there's no apparent criminal issue here,” TMZ’s report reads. “Still ... rifling through a stranger's mailbox is a pretty strange way to win over a voter.”

The difference in the debt between Ds and Rs is that Ds put it in programs to help the people and Rs give it all to the rich fucks. So spare me with this both sides shit and tell the fucking truth.

------------

The Washington Post reported on Tuesday that the U.S. debt is likely to hit $40 trillion this week, several months ahead of schedule, partly due to President Donald Trump's invalidated tariffs. The report notes that the new debt arrived at a "perilous moment," as inflation and rising geopolitical risk cause investors to flee from government bonds.

"For the past quarter-century, the national debt has grown under both parties, through the tax cuts of the George W. Bush era, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Great Recession, the 2017 Trump tax cuts and the nearly $2 trillion Biden administration initiative to prop up the economy during the coronavirus pandemic," the Post noted. "Trump pledged during his first campaign in 2016 to eliminate the debt within eight years; instead, it has doubled since he first took office."

OT win: last night big toe was throbbing and inflamed and I was on the verge of deciding to go to urgent care this morning. But (a couple of hot water soaks and unguent smears later) it's almost completely resolved on its own. So that saved me six hours of sitting in a waiting room with other poor schmucks like me.

Probably ingrown toenail. It looks like a piece of pine bark from various indignities and abuse it's suffered over a lifetime, and probably needs to get removed and the nailbed treated to prevent the nail from growing back at some point.

In case any of you need further proof of his moderate cred,

“the Democratic Party has embraced authoritarianism...”

See? anyone to the right of moderate would call it the "Democrat" party!

Also, I am reminded that Bill O'Really keeps insisting that he's an Independent.

What screams "Not Moderate" about him is his projection on every topic. They are the authoritarians. They are the violence. It's like he had a list of all the shitty things the GOP does daily and then wrote a question about it blaming Democrats. He might as well and come out and said, "Why is the Left ruining our national monuments?" It's just pure projection.
