At least Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia isn't in a position to make important decisions that affect people's lives, or this might be a tad disturbing: Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia says torture -- depending on the circumstances, like if a nuclear bomb was planted in Los Angeles -- isn't necessarily off limits. The critical difference between the Cheney/Bushies and the series 24 is that the TV show Jack Bauer readily acknowledged that what he did was illegal and immoral and he fully accepted the personal consequences for doing them. Compare that to the Bush administration's ass-covering excuses and evasions that continue to this day. If they want to claim the fictional Bauer as a role model then they should at least go all the way.
Christmas tree farming here in the rural Northeast is done in both large-scale enterprises (commercial tree farms) and as a small-scale cottage industry (home garden lots). I have obtained cut-your-own trees from lots that the owners planted in their front yard. Years ago it was also common for folks in town to sell cut trees out of their own garages and back yards. They didn't advertise; you found out who was selling trees via word of mouth. The men would sell trees and the women would sell garlands and kissing balls. I don't know why but I don't see that being done so much anymore.
Balsam pines grow like weeds around here. Every spring and off and on during the summer I have to go around my yard and pop pine seedlings out of my lawn and garden plots. It takes constant vigilance to keep "the jungle" from reclaiming my little residential clearing. I have missed a few over the years that very quickly became large trees that had to be felled.
“You think it’s an easy question? You think it’s clear that you cannot use extreme measures to get that information out of that person?”
Anyone who thinks "should we torture people" isn't an easy question (the answer is always no) is someone I wouldn't ask the question to in the first place.
Scalia: "Is torture really that bad? Maureen and I have been married since 1960! ... Seriously, folks, I'll be here all session. Try the veal."

But the one thing the Reptards will never condone is to let a gay interpreter do the questioning.
I'm guessing that if the situation were to ever arise, as sweetly unambiguous as you like, and someone were to save tens of thousands of lives through a little bit of torture, there wouldn't be too many people who would raise a fuss.

And now what percentage of that 88.7% of Darwin Awards winners consisted of males who appeared in the Jackass franchise?

When calling for justice is considered insulting to police, it might be time to check the fascist thermometer.

I submit myself as evidence of the male idiot theory

On TV, the judicial system works pretty well, and judges are usually wise, thoughtful men committed to justice.
You know, that's fucking brilliant.
No wonder Cheney and Scalia didn't think of it.

But until then....
