Yay you for jurying. I got called for jury duty once, and I found the whole experience very positive. Everyone was very aware of their responsibilities and the authority we wielded, nary an angry man in sight.
It's one of those things we have to do to make all this shit work.
Thanks Dom for some great pictures and thanks Rebecca for the accompanying story. My wife wants one of those t-shirts that reads "My Black Job is to elect her to her black job." Neither one of us is black but we fully back that sentiment.
My shirt’s gonna say “Fascism won’t make the strawberries cheaper.” It’ll go with the two I’ve got already: “What part of ‘e pluribus unum’ don’t you understand?” And the first one “Political apathy isn’t debonair.”
"Yesterday, we spent a solid eight hours standing at a hangar at DTW (that’s Detroit y’all) with I’d say 8,000 of our closest friends. And oh they were beautiful."
The Fulvous Flatulence will insist it was maybe between 1500-2000 while claiming that his event at the same location was filled to overflowing. In comparing crowd sizes the Amber Ardipithecus ramidus lies like always. The Mango Malignancy's claims of attendance at his recent rallies are as bogus as his patriotism and his insistence that he believes in the American ideal:
"the former president has become increasingly frustrated by the surging poll numbers enjoyed by his presumed opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, according to five people close to the situation who spoke to The Washington Post.
He reportedly told a supporter he felt it was “unfair” that after he “beat” Joe Biden he had to turn around and run against Harris.
“It’s unfair that I beat him and now I have to beat her, too,” the former president reportedly said.
While Trump famously has never beaten Biden" (ibid)
The Sandstone Snowflake is melting down having to run against a candidate who can run circles around him, both physically and mentally. His insistence that he is being treated unfairly is ludicrous to the extreme; the only times he is treated unfairly is when he doesn't get his way. It's totally unfair that the Dems "allowed" Pres Biden to remove himself from the race (a race that the MAGA oberster Fuhrer had a solid chance of winning), and replace him with another who is currently even with or beating him in polling. It's totally unfair that his ageist attacks on Biden are now being turned against him (with Biden out he becomes the oldest nominee for POTUS in American history). It's totally unfair that rather than face off against an opponent who is showing signs of increasing age-related confusion or senility to having to prove that *he* is not senile and suffering from dementia. It's totally unfair that he will actually have to make an effort to convince the voters that a Right wingnut is better for the country, writ large, than a moderate to liberal choice. It's totally unfair that he is now forced to run against a strong Black woman (a double slam: a woman and a POC) who has already shown she can unify the Dems rather than allow him to run against a disjointed party.
It won’t really be fair until he is behind bars and his empire sold off by paying his owed taxes, fines, and retributions. I’m thinking Guantanamo prison is too good for him.
Vance puts out an empty bowl with a sign saying "just take one" and then refuses to answer the door. Later he blames the poors for stealing all the candy he never put out there to begin with.
This Metro Detroit woman is just delighted. I saw a headline calling Harris/Walz "Happy Warriors" and I think that's amazingly accurate. What a contrast to the "Sneering Shitheels" on the other side.
That’s amazing! I am a Biden supporter and appreciate his many years of service. However, there was no way he was going to mount the vigorous campaign needed to beat that narcissistic puppet the republicans insist on propping up. Both VPOTUS Harris and Governor Walz have the stamina, intelligence, and political knowledge to make this happen. Of course we also need to win congress and the senate to pass legislation that can truly make a difference for the future. I’m very hopeful.
What a great party!
You DO realise that this goes against Mr Corset’s “religion” - only HE can be in the spotlight ! ///////////////ssssssssssssss
Ta, Rebecca. Ta, Dominic. Let's win this, with VOTES!!
Love the "my black job" shirt. Can't wear it myself - not black - but love the messaging.
Judge sagely. Thank you for BEING THERE. I’ll bet Elissa Slotkin is telling everybody she knows that she met Rebecca the Domineditrix!
Marvy! Looks like you ladies will save the USA fo
From dickweilding stupidity!
Thank for the great run-down and pictures. I so wanted to be there! This is super exciting. I have hope instead of despair. Yaaaa!!

I read Amanda Marcotte's piece and it was fabtabulous.
Dom bringin' the A game photography he's a Wonkette legend for.

*It's just not fair.*

I see the fnords!

I'm pretty sure there's a "room reservation" in his name at ADX Florence.

I understand Tim Walz gives out full-sized candy bars at Halloween. This election is over.
Vance probably gives individual Smarties. Trump has people who shoot trespassers before they ring the bell.
Vance puts out an empty bowl with a sign saying "just take one" and then refuses to answer the door. Later he blames the poors for stealing all the candy he never put out there to begin with.
A crime against humanity. Smarties/Dumdums should always be handed out in multiples.
Vance gives tiny boxes of raisins that are old, so they have fused into a dusty lump inside.

For any Young People reading along, that phrase is a callback to the Hubert Humphrey days.
NYT with actual helpful headline for Democrats??
Sulzberger must be on vacay
“‘I Am Speaking Now’: At a Rally in Detroit, Harris Stares Down Her Detractors
The vice president’s reaction to pro-Palestinian protesters shows how she can turn efforts to rattle her to her own advantage.”

Outstanding report and thank you my Queen! You were lovely and so ready to party!!! I want to hang out with future Senator Slatkin and you! Big Hugs 🤗
