Kamala Harris Is Not Afraid Of Trump And She Will Kick His Ass
At last night's MSNBC town hall, Harris showed she is ready for a FIGHT.
There was a moment during Kamala Harris's MSNBC town hall with Lawrence O'Donnell when it seemed like she had officially won the crowd over to her side. Luckily, it came early, which meant they were with her most of the 75 minutes of the event, which ran late into dumb Brian Williams's hour, and fortunately the network execs decided it would be more interesting to let Harris stay on TV longer, instead of switching over to dumb Brian Williams.
They spent a lot of the first section talking about the draconian and insane abortion laws being passed all over the country right now, and it came up that Donald Trump, during a very similar town hall event during the 2016 campaign, had said that women who have abortions should be punished. O'Donnell pointed out, correctly, that Trump took back what he had said almost as quickly as he said it. And Harris, who was NOT HAVING IT, affixed the look you see above on her face and said, " It came out of his mouth ." And we laughed really hard and paused the TV and the people in the audience laughed and cheered, and we were off to the races!

Harris was just on fire last night, and we saw the candidate we've been guessing up to now has, in a way, been biding her time, letting this very early stage of the campaign play out without worrying too much about exactly what the polls say, because she knew the time was coming when she'd get to really start introducing herself to the American people. We suspect a lot of people saw that candidate last night.
Harris brought along some really interesting policy ideas too, one specifically pertaining to the abortion issue, which she said she's kind of "done" with, and if you heard her tone of voice, you know that when she meant "done," she meant through with it.Harris has a plan for states that like to use the Supreme Court's ruling in Planned Parenthood v. Casey to restrict abortion out of existence, all while shouting, "Nuh uh, we are not undue-burden-ing a woman's right to choose, just because we just made up a new law that all abortion clinics must have 38-foot ceilings in all broom closets!" Specifically, she'd like to take the model of the Voting Rights Act, which had certain measures in place -- at least until the Supreme Court gutted it -- to make sure states were in compliance. With Harris's plan, if a state has a particular reputation for passing laws that fuck up women's reproductive rights and health, then any new laws they pass would have to get the go-ahead from the Justice Department.
And as Harris noted last night, for those who point out that the Supreme Court gutted that provision of the Voting Rights Act, what happened in 2013 in Shelby County v. Holder was that the court bought the argument from states like Alabama that it simply wasn't fair to go back 50 years in Alabama's history to see if Alabama was being good at not being racist toward people's right to vote, and that therefore the system for determining whether states were on the naughty list or the nice list was outdated. Harris said she'd like to look at states legislating abortion out of existence going back 25 years, which sounds about right to us.

Harris got some of the biggest cheers of the night when she would quite frankly get pissed off about something, calling Trump's manufactured border crisis and family separation policies a "human rights abuse," and when arguing for why she's the best person to prosecute the case against Donald Trump, both in an impeachment inquiry, which should start long before the 2020 election, and afterward, when (she hopes!) President Kamala Harris will be the one in charge of putting the pieces back together.

"The evidence supports the prosecution of that case," Harris said. "There needs to be transparency, accountability ... There is a lot of work to do and I plan on seeing it through."
Harris was extremely clear that 2020 is about the presidency, but it's also about the Senate, because if we do not win back the Senate, then Mitch McConnell will (likely) still be there throwing wrenches into literally anything that would be good for the American people and just generally ruining the country, as he's been doing for so many years. Hell, just yesterday, that smarmy little fuck confirmed that if a Supreme Court vacancy comes up during the 2020 campaign, of course he will help Trump fill that seat. You know, in case you were under the mistaken impression that the stunt he pulled with Merrick Garland had something to do with his long-held principles or something.

The president of the United States, when speaking, has a profound amount of authority and power, and must then use the microphone before her in a responsible way. [...] The idea that this president, on foreign soil , attacked the previous vice president of the United States -- I don't care what the differences on policy issues, I don't care what the differences in terms of party affiliation. It is wrong, it is contrary to our values, and it is contrary to the best interests of our country. And he should not have done it, it is irresponsible, and it is ... yet another example of why he should not be president of the United States.
And then she dropped her mic, but not literally, because the event wasn't over yet.
There were a lot of moments like that. And there will be many more, we think! Harris said last night that one of the reasons she's the best person to be on that debate stage with Donald Trump is that she knows how to fight. If she wins the primary, we can't wait to watch her fight his dumb ass.

Yeah you figure as a black woman she has two strikes against her in the white male dominated world yet made it to attorney general, if under a black president. So she's put up with a lot of shit already.. Humm what about Biden as P to pull in the whites and males that want a white guy, and Harris as VP to motivate the motivate a lot of blacks and women to get out and vote that normally don't and hopefully in 8 years the majority of whites will no longer be whites that only vote for whites.
