Democratic nominee Kamala Harris will beat Republican Donald Trump
Buried lede: Lichtman developed “The Keys to the White House” with a partner in 1981 and used them to look at past election cycles retrospectively. He’s been correct in every prediction except one – the 2000 election in which he incorrectly predicted a win by Al Gore. (Hmmmmmm)
Funny story about Mumford & Sons - original banjo player Winston Marshall (who at the time was the highest-paid banjo player on the planet) quit/was forced out of the band for praising a book by Andy Ngo. Marshall decided that he'd rather shitpost on social media than be in the band. He's got huge family money, so he won't starve.
I love VP Harris, but I honestly don’t need to hear her…I already know I agree with her, and I’d probably nit-pick something dumb. But I’d love to hear Mumford and Sons…but I’m too lazy to FF through it to find them… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mumford & Sons played for Harris? Oh dear, my conservative sister in law may need to cancel her dog then. His name is Mumford.... named after them.
(Actually, I have no idea if she planned to even vote this year. She was never keen on Trump and I know she sat out the presidential vote in 2020 in protest, acting as a -1 for him in Georgia. She may opt to do so again this year. Convincing a lifelong Republican with hardcore MAGA parents to vote *for* a Democrat would be a tall order, so we accepted her decision and asked instead that she simply vote against Herschel Walker, since he was so dangerous, which she did. Worked out for everyone in 2020. She might justify a vote for Kamala as a vote against the PAB this year in a similar manner.)
Agree with the comments here about how Harris is THE BEST candidate in my lifetime and running a pretty near flawless campaign. Her ability to avoid the media gotcha moments is nothing short of brilliant. So deft that you don't notice until she's laid out the reporter. She's so positive, uplifting, energetic. I just say Wow everything I see her, hear her.
NBC nightly news breaking news bot, “Kamala had a rally last night that some Democrats praised but then Joe Biden while coughing held up his hand as if to say “Hold on a minute” but many on the right interpreted this as a Nazi Salute. Here’s our own Peter Alexander on the “fallout”
pete alexander needs to bring out the three secret service agents who promised to blow the whistle on cassidy hutchinson. it's been since july 2022. where they at, saturday today boi?
They completely missed Trinidad and Tobago. They've had a woman Prime Minister and a woman President (parliamentary system) as well as a woman Chief Justice.
i don't need to confirm for my high school classmates that i voted for joebiden & now kamala harris. plus, they'd know roughly where i live, so they could come & liquidate me.
I get it, which is why I was trying to find the source. It looks like an official Harris ad, but I cannot find it ANYWHERE, not youtube, the campaign site or even Reach, the app created to share content.
I have been on this planet just shy of 50 years and very politically active since I was 18. I have never seen a candidate run this flawless of a campaign. She's been spectacular. Also, sign of a great President- she knows how to put together a team firing on all cylinders every day. I really thought my vote for HRC in 2016 would be the pinnacle for me- I adore her and believed I'd never feel that much emotion again for a POTUS candidate. I was wrong. The Harris-Walz vote felt even more profound, emotional, and meaningful- and not simply because democracy and human rights are on the ballot but bc of how special she is.
I finally got to vote today, KY early voting started today and the line was around the block, I've never waited 45 minutes to vote in my tiny red town in my life, which probably doesn't bode well since this place loves the orange fuhrer but still...was so excited to fill in that bubble beside Future President Kamala Harris' name!!
I felt the same way voting yesterday! I felt so proud to be voting for Kamala, after everything we've been through as a country this past decade. We got this!
I felt that way about voting for President Obama. The thought that this country might elect a Black man president - when I was just about your age, too - felt so good. Little did I know that the country would decide to tear itself apart because of it. Still, hang on to that good feeling. It's important to revel in the good things.
"Linger" for me...something very mysterious and in my mind Halloween-y in that song especially the video using Goddard's 'Alphaville' as the inspiration.
(<oblig>ohnoes, I hope someone put her out!)

I love you.
Thanks, Wonkette, for posting the link. I watched Veep Harris's speech today with lunch. Let's win this.
Trust her...she's got this- she knows more about where she needs to be than anyone else...

They were enthusiastic and good too....

I was so impressed with Gracie Abrams...incredible performance and also MVP Harris killing it!
Hey look! It's a packed venue. Wanna compare crowd sizes, Don?
He doesn’t want to compare the size of ANYTHING.
He doesn't. He'd rather lie.
Having my coffee before I get my workout in and then go volunteer at Kamala's rally here in Reno. Can't wait!

Of course that's where their minds went first

Of course she was. Harris is fire.

Hmm…could be an option of the chicken-fuckers take over…
They missed Canada ... although it didn't last all that long and she was backstabbed right out of the job soon after,
Fantastic. That is a lot of countries. Way more than I expected. What is wrong with the United States? (I know, I know, so much).

Right there with you Jim.

The Cranberries "Zombie" will be played loud today.
We love and miss you Delores.

it's not a halloween song but it's more a halloween song than die hard is a christmas movie.
What if Trump had fallen into the back end of the trash truck and the equipment had buried him in the refuse, or compacted him with it?
That actually happened to a character on an episode of Law and Order
Sadly that actually happened to a real person too.
& in green bay, where donold was, a papermill worker fell into a vat of paper & died.
Why would you wish that on innocent trash?
He was found guilty on 34 counts!
Ohh, you meant...nevermind.
The world should be so lucky.
