So Kansas is really on track to be the Most Terrible State of 2014, which is a competition we just invented. This is the fifth time we've had to write a "what's the matter with Kansas" post (find all past Kansas goodness/badness here ) yet this year and frankly, Kansas, we are getting a little tired of your Legislature's bad behavior. Can't you put them in a timeout or something?
Doll said he brought it on behalf of a constituent who said having a birth certificate would ease the trauma of HIS child’s stillbirth.
So Mr. Well-Meaning Legislator innocently introduces a "clean" bill that innocently turns a certificate of stillbirth into a certificate of birth, and has no teensiest inkling that it might perchance offer an opportunity to redefine a fetus's life as beginning before birth? And this guy lives in Kansas?
Hey yall, did you know that the word "gullible" isn't in the dictionary?
Um, yeah. Not, perhaps, his smartest move.

The fuck?
I've been waiting years for some smart legislature to close this shocking loophole. Finally Kansas takes the lead. Go Kansas!
And people say Kansas isn't progressive.
