A Tad Impatient To 86 47's avatar

They know exactly what’s happening. They’ll lie, cheat, steal … and kill to get what they want. We’re gonna need fire to cleanse the Republicans/Maggots from this country. Where’s the key for ‘spits fire’ on an iPhone? I’m still new at this Apple shit.

KA$HLOL is good, but so's calling him by his full name: Kashyap.

Because, boy, does he ever yap.

KA$HYAP

Maybe fancy it up with some of the other letters marked as currency, like KA$H¥A₱

Ta, Evan. I did not know Maurene Comey was a lead prosecutor in the Epstein case. It's all coming together as it falls apart.

Mommadillo's avatar

I have zero sympathy for James Comey for two reasons: first, because I despise cops of any variety, and second, because none of this would be happening if he hadn’t fucked Hillary Clinton back in 2016. I hope they find a jury packed with Trumpers and throw him in prison, because if anyone has it coming, he does.

Okay, grammar police here. I want to file a complaint. It should be “ bootlickingLY stupid”. That is all.

Reader's avatar

Without rereading, are you sure it's not that they are both bootlicking and stupid?

The tells they throw that inform us all just how out of touch with regular human life: tell us you've never met anyone who has worked in the service industry without telling us...we former, and every single current server got it. Maybe they should try mingling with the great unwashed and learn something about life, though I suppose someone should think of their reputations at the golf club 🤷‍♀️🙄

Sallyfemina's avatar

I got it and I've never worked in the service industry. But I'm not the common clay of the new West either.

Also, this isn't the first time I've seen it. I saw bumper stickers reading 8645 back then.

Nicole Koretsky's avatar

I'm a white middle class woman who grew up in the suburbs, so I don't know if I'm of the "common clay either," except to the extent that familial divorce and subsequent penury thereby included me: I began working at 14. Regardless of our backgrounds this entire performance by the administration is beneath contempt, and their ignorance of that common clay is only laid more bare through their unconstitutional and utterly ridiculous and out of touch behavior.

Sallyfemina's avatar

Amen. People with morals are appalled, but of course none of them work for the maladministration. (My reference to clay was, of course, from "Blazing Saddles". Look up the next line.)

I wonder why Sundowning Grandpa Befuddlepants (thanks Jeff Tiedrich) didn't have a cow over 8645 all those years ago?

Nicole Koretsky's avatar

From the film wasn't it people of the land....you know, morons? 😘

Sallyfemina's avatar

The last word of the quote is the point. 😉

IMDB says

"You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons."

Nicole Koretsky's avatar

I had forgotten the "common clay of the Midwest" part of the quote. Strange, because I have seen that movie a thousand times. Thanks for reminding me. Gods, to have been in a breakout/writing session with Pryor and Brooks...geniuses xx

If Kash spent nine to eleven months (too toasted to remember exactly how long?), then he has been investigating this matter longer than he's been investigating the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

Kobayashi Marooned's avatar

That's OK, Kash is too drunk to remember, too.

As noted elsewhere if he’d meant it he’d have said 187 47 which he wouldn’t have because der.

If he had more seashells he could have written “Trump forced me to have a dinner where he demanded personal loyalty and I had to write a contact report about the commander in chief”

Sallyfemina's avatar

We would also accept 5150 47, except fatass doesn't like to come where that's the code.

Simply my stochastic reminder of what the maladministration is...

In 1991 I was playing in the house band in a bar in Oregon. One of the guitar players got in a fight in there one night, and they told us he was 86'd. No, he wasn't taken out back and shot. We understood this to mean he was no longer allowed to enter the bar. He lived another 15 years or so, until he died in a car accident.

I assume now that I will be called to testify in this case.

Biff52 Lost Canadian's avatar

As a former bartender and customer of bars, I have been both 86'd and the 86er.

So what would happen if a million people marched down the Mall in DC carrying signs that said "86 47"? Would they order the National Guard to shoot them all and then declare martial law? Let's not find out, shall we?:

Queen Méabh's avatar

I just did a search on the linguistic origin of the term "86" and got this:

1) 𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝗡𝗶𝘅" 𝗥𝗵𝘆𝗺𝗲 (𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗹𝘆):According to Merriam-Webster and slang dictionaries, "86" rhymes with and means "nix" (to cancel or refuse)

2) 𝟭𝟵𝟯𝟬𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗱𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻/𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗼: Walter Winchell reported on this in 1933, where "86" was listed in a glossary of restaurant slang indicating the kitchen was out of an item

3) 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗹𝗲𝘆'𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆 (𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵): A popular legend states that during Prohibition, police would call the barkeep at 86 Bedford Street in NYC to tell him to "86" customers, meaning to have them leave out the back door before a raid

4) 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗼'𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆: A less confirmed theory suggests that Delmonico's Restaurant in New York used "Item 86" for their most popular steak, which frequently sold out

5) 𝗥𝗵𝘆𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴/𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 Other theories, considered less likely, include:

- 𝟴 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁, 𝟲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿": A euphemism for killing or disposing of someone

- 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: Article 86 is "Absence Without Leave" (AWOL)

- 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: 8 feet, 6 inches, meaning to show someone the door

The phrase shifted from referring to food items in the 1930s to becoming a verb for tossing out customers by the 1950s.

I think my favorite is "to show someone the door" (and don't let it hit you on the way out).

eo's avatar

The "nix" rhyme theory is my favorite.

John Ranta's avatar

Standard door height is 6 feet 8 inches. So, 68 that one.

Queen Méabh's avatar

I noticed that too...but not until a while after I posted it. Good catch.

“Take the life of” AND “inflict bodily harm upon”? In that order, Todd?

I have no desire to desecrate a corpse but if you did, that would be the proper order.

Daniel O'Riordan's avatar

And, of course, we can't rule out that Republicans are really into desecrating corpses.

CzechJournalists's avatar

clearly this administration only cares if the bodies are still warm.
