Britt’s use of the 2 decade-old tragedy sandwiched between “Biden border” and “Biden border” was pretty gross, and then her non-apology and blaming the media is perfectly on-brand for Republicans.
I think she was sent out as bait and completely blew it. The only reason to have a Senator give the SOTU response from a kitchen is to draw a reaction. Decent people would obviously point out that this is where republicans think a woman's place should be, and they would spend the next several months shouting that Democrats hate housewives. But she was so ridiculously bad that her response became completely indefensible. Except for Tuberville. The only problem he saw was that she wasn't making him a sandwich.

A rebuttal, if I understand the term correctly, is a counter-argument to an opponent's statement.

1. Women will vote for reproductive freedom;
2. The Affordable Care Act helps Americans;
3. We're doing humanitarian aid in Gaza;
4. The rich need to be taxed at a minimum of 25%;
5. Something about a Snickers bar.
Unless President Biden said that we've forced other countries to stop sex trafficking, and I somehow missed it, a story about terrible things happening IN ANOTHER COUNTRY, who we don't rule over anyway, is not a rebuttal to anything; it's a distraction.
It was just more look how much we care about women bullshit from the GOP. I don't know why they're so worried about women. The NYT's last "poll" suggest that we prefer trump over Biden. Perhaps the GOP find that poll as much bullshit as the rest of us do.
Ms. Jacinto wants *Republicans* to be empathetic? She'll be waiting a LOOOOOONG time before that ever happens. The first thing that happens when you register to vote R is that the empathy chip is removed.
