Greetings, great Wonkespora, and welcome to another edition of That's Our Katie!, our semi-regular feature where we take a look at the lies and sloppy journalism spewed by wingnut dingbat Katie Pavlich in her never-ending quest to make us actually long for the reasonable and fact-based writing of Phyllis Schlafly. This is an awful series we proposed to write because it means we have to put on a Hazmat suit and dive into the viscera-soaked sewer of Townhall, but it is also an easy series to write because finding an issue Katie has misrepresented, distorted or lied about is simpler than finding water in the ocean. Let's see what she has in store for us today.
It really is. I was always baffled how wingnutz hold it up as an example of some kind of dismal failure. Not to mention the USPS keeps prices down on the commercial carriers. And commercial carriers are completely ill equipped to deliver daily residential and business mail. So the USPS isn't profitable? Who fucking cares?
Unions are bad. Privatized UPS and FEDEX are good, except that a letter costs $14 to mail overnight. And if you live in the boondocks, you're fucked. You know the saying: Always Be Privatizing!
There's no way i'm wading into the cesspool of wingnuttia to do my own research on this, so would one of you hardier souls answer this: what "university" did Katie get her "journalism" degree from? Bob Jones? Liberty? Oral Roberts?

"because nothing will help those house-bound seniors and disabled people more than a brisk walk down the street to a community letterbox in the middle of a January snowstorm."
This senior's tip: get in your car and drive to the box, even if it's just across the street. It's a popular move in my community. The USPS hasn't provided residential delivery here in over 16 years.
When I want to get my mail in January (or March), I strap on my snowshoes.
Around here driving to the box is a popular option, though not the sole one. I briefly considered doing it myself recently when I was recuperating from a sprained ankle. (I awkwardly hobbled to the box and back instead.) What isn't an option anymore here is having mail delivered to your door. Living here has always required a certain kind of hardiness, and the people who call this region home are tough old birds.
Really ... his last name wouldn't happen to rhyme with "shitburger" would it?

Hey, I heard you missed us, we're back! I brought my pencil. Give me something to write on, man
Oh, don't worry. There aren't any bad/stupid/unhelpful ideas out there they haven't had already.
Freedumb!

I told you to avoid the brown acid, but does anyone listen to me?
Strictly speaking, they have ALEC to generate those ideas for them.
Shhhh! We're on the down-low. Hiding from FEMA camps and all.

That site is just offal, isn't it?
Wait, you're saying that this isn't 1973???
George McGovern is still President though, right?
Rep. Eddie Munster is blonde on the inside.

Well that might work if you can drive. Or walk. Not everyone can and many such made decisions on where to live based on home delivery.
