Coming home and speaking out against the war was maybe the bravest part.

Rs will never understand that part either.

They do deserve respect and compassion. No doubt whatever. But from the party that nominated Donald Trump for President? Joan of Arc wouldn't get respect or compassion from that bunch. If they'd lived back then they'd be carrying placards that read, "Dangerous violent crazed leftie!" "Barbecue her!" "Conquer France!"

Speaking of inappropriate guns, has anyone else been following the breaking craft store news this afternoon, when Joann's Fabric and Crafts Store (that's right! The place where you go to get glitter, quilt batting, the weird size of cupcake liners, and the stuff to make your kids' Halloween costumes) just all casually replied to a customer that their stores are totally down with open carry. I mean, they did say They Wished You Wouldn't But If You're Going To Well Okay. They're getting an earful, as you would hope. https://uploads.disquscdn.c...

And in this case, online activism has been productive...Joann Corporate, who was probably just sitting home in sweatpants eating ice cream, has had to leap onto it's social media platforms to confirm that their policy is to have gun-free (except glue-guns, of course) stores.

It takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad granny with a knitting needle.

Possibly. But the point of a grid is to have a way around down sections. Unless you at the end of the line.

Do you think a shitload of power stations going down mysteriously on election day would not result in Russia going dark until we decide to turn the power back on?

Do you think we can't do the same to them?

The OP is nothing more than fear mongering.

US Cybercommand is all up in their shit hardcore and they certainly would cause trouble. I would not put it past them to blackhole St Petersburg off the internet on election day. I do not think at the moment Russia needs to futz with the power supply to create enough FUD to keep them satisfied the US is off kilter. They still have their troll farms, their NRA, the fine assistance from Murdoch and Sinclair and the unholy spawn of Cambridge Analytica, so futzing with the power would seem to be inviting unnecessary escalation.Yes, grids work around outages, but it takes time to do it and if you no longer trust your computerised automation that could be quite some time to get crews where they needed to be. It would only take a handful of hours.

Perhaps the Popeyes chicken sandwich gunperson and the Mickey D’s assaulty employee could consent to a Fast Duel of the Fast Food Franchises? Armed with clogged arteries and charged defibrillators.

Originally from Maine, and yeah, we never call ourselves that. And Lepage was actually a Florida man when he first ran. (He had retired and was claiming residency there for tax purposes.) You can call that hemmorrhoid from hell anything you want. (But Florida Man is the bigger insult.)
