MAGA being MAGA, they lose even if Paxton wins the General Election.
How so ? Well, the TL/DR is that Cornyn is in the top 5 of most senior Republican Senators. The Senate takes this stuff very seriously, it's one of the reasons he's the Republican whip, but he also has a lot more influence on what money goes to what state, due to his various committee positions.
On the other hand, Paxton will be a first term Senator, with little no influence, in a Senate where even die hard MAGA Senators hate his guts.
So it's win big (Talarico) or win small (Paxton) for the Democrats.
Can't say I'm too weepy about Cornyn getting kicked to the curb. Paxton's worse in every conceivable way of course. But it does give me the opportunity to tell a story tangentially related to both him and Fuck Ted Cruz.
Back in 2019, while working at the Old Theater, I was on shift when we had a nighttime rental for this cinematic hit job on Planned Parenthood called "Unplanned". Lot of religiously conservative, Republican, MAGA types showed up. Gritted my teeth beneath my work manners the whole time. Anyway, the relevance of this little tale is that the guy who organized this rental apparently once worked for both Cornyn and Cruz's Senate campaigns before coming to work for MA's Republican Party.
I can remember when George HW and Barbara Bush were huge supporters of Planned Parenthood. That party sure has changed, although the roots of how they are now were always there.
Watching the National Spelling Bee – these kids, mostly 11 to 14 years old, are so great, and the organizers take such good care of them at this competition.
Foundation guy wants $20,000 to solve my problem of water in the basement. What he wants to do makes sense to me, but I was getting more of a hard sell than I liked. He wanted me to go ahead and sign on the line right away. As the saying goes, I didn't just fall off a turnip truck. I'm getting a second opinion on it.
When TFG says "I don't care about the midterms", what he's trying to convey is the notion that he's above the mere partisan politics that concern the peasants, and he's engaged in the galactically consequential quest to ensure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon, which they didn't have to begin with and wasn't going to have as long as the JCPOA was in effect.
In all likelihood now thanks to his horrible "art of the deal", Iran will most likely be able to get a nuclear weapon and will be charging tolls for oil tankers to get through the Strait of Hormuz.
How is Blanche going to be able to pay off all of the proven rapist Trump's criminal friends if they have to drain the $2-billion "weaponization" fund to pay off all the people that Trump has actually gone after with the DoJ???

I hope Robbie Kaplan files another lawsuit for E. Jean and gets more money for her and, hopefully, this time E. Jean will actually get the money right away and not wait years to finally get a check.
Well, these have been an interesting last two days. Left work early yesterday from exhaustion (spillover from the long weekend) and today after coming home, I napped for TWO HOURS.
Travel blogger Mikah Meyer visited ALL of the 400+ National Park Service sites. The full list includes national monuments, battlefields, and rivers — in addition to the 63 national parks.
He's got some thoughts on which underrated ones you should visit.
NORTHEAST: The northern end of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in Maine. You might get to meet people who have hiked the entire thing. And you can climb Mt. Katahdin like a common highpointer (grin).
Yes. Go visit all of those. Stay away from Hells Canyon Natl Rec Area, though. It's terrible. Don't ever go there. Same goes for the River of No Return Wilderness Area and the Gospel Hump Wilderness Area. Awful. You should definitely recreate somewhere else. I'll keep an eye on them for you, though.
My little dog is so smart. When his toys get lost under something, he stands there and growls. He can remember where things are lost for days. I love my little god so dang much. Wish you could all meet him!
So, bots are just the evolutoon of sock puppets, right?

Another thing I found interesting is whites are a minority there.

And a third.
Preach! I hate a hard sell and immediately will refuse because you dont fucking force me to do anything
Was in the work cave this afternoon and then errands and such, so I'm just catching up on the firehose of newses of the day.
Chris Hayes showing clips of the sycophantic "cabinet" meeting today. LOL! The Roundtable of Taint Licking.
And poor Aaron. Along with our wonderful Wonkette peeps and so many others who have to watch this insanity so we don't have to.

Why can’t one of them wake him up by winging one of those abominable hats at him.
"Staying awake for this bullshit is SO beneath me..."
I think that’s at least 120%. Or 6,000 %, something like that.

1. Lead Left, a super PAC created on 4/24, purports to stand "against MAGA extremists."
It has spent $3M+ in Democratic primaries.
But it's funders and motivations have been secret.
Until now.
It's a GOP dirty tricks operation.

Donald Segretti served four months in prison for dirty tricks.
And introduced the term "rat fucking" to a large segment of the population.
When we Dems do it for free.
Shocked, I tells ya.

I treasure the USA's national parks, but knowing that he is charging additional fees in order to finance his abuse of our monuments sickens me.
