Yeah, it WAS 1200, but now has become 1300. Unclear why.

No effing joke, a Toronto police officer (I won't honour that asshole by naming him) was convicted of attempted murder, but not murder, even though the young man he shot (Samy Yatim) died.

The reasoning: the first shot was justified because the cop "feared for his life" (even though there were several cops already on the scene and none of them or his own partner saw the need to fire their guns) and he had the right to use deadly force to stop the threat. However, when it was clear that Yatim wasn't going anywhere (because he was bleeding out on a streetcar floor from the first gunshot), the cop fired a few more bullets into him.

The court found that those later shots amounted to attempted murder. The cop did not know if Yatim was dead after the first shot, but he did know that Yatim was no longer a threatv once he went down. Therefore, the subsequent gunshots were done deliberately to try to kill Yatim, and not to neutralize any threat.

Sorry, that officer is a mindless blaster. Seven rounds!?!?! Any pistolero with a brain would realize that this isn't some NFL lineman charging AT you. You just need to disable, not blow 'em away. He could also have just shot the tires out, thus preventing escape. But these clown cops are all militarized in the head nowadays. Blam! Blam! Blam is all they're taught, how they think, and what they want.

Yeah, it was a rhetorical question to highlight the hypocrisy and callousness of his statement. Maybe there should be a r/ for rhetorical (like there's a s/ for sarcasm).

They intentionally over charged Rittenhouse so the jury can get acquit him. It's probably easy to prove he had no prior intent to kill anyone.

He was out of ammo?

Except a Chicago cop. who fired blindly into a crowd while off-duty and killed a young woman, was acquitted because he was undercharged.

No shit. The judge ruled that he should have been charged with murder, but because he had only been charged with manslaughter, the judge had no option but to let him go. It was one of the most ridiculous, outrageous judicial rulings I've ever seen in my life, and I'm no kid.

Like the Milwaukee police officer in the Jeffrey Dahmer case, one of two officers who gave Dahmer custody of one of his victims after the victim had escaped. This cop went on to become a high-ranking officer in a nearby suburban police department, retiring a few years ago with a full pension and honors. Sickening.

I guess the next question for Kenosha is: What's the going rate for shooting an unarmed man in the back and paralyzing him?

I expect will find out the answer to that one when Blake sues the living fuck out of the city.
