My husband and I entered a friendly wager this morning. He says PAB won't make it past the primaries. I say 2024 will be a rehash of 2020 but they'll both be even older.
Related: Yesterday, former Minnesota police officer Kim Potter was released from prison.
You may remember her. In the middle of a large scuffle, she shot teenager Daunte Wright after drawing her service pistol instead of her taser. She served sixteen months of a two year sentence. She will spend the remainder of her sentence in supervised release.
It's arguable whether that was a fair sentence or not. Potter always maintained that she drew her service pistol by mistake in the middle of a confusing scrum, and her immediate, dismayed reaction supports this. Much criticism was over her poor training and long absence from street patrolling.
But I'm not going to get into that. The important part of the article, for me, is the second half, which details the many changes that Brooklyn Center has instituted in it's policing after the shooting (some quite radical and ground-breaking), and the changes that were promised but have yet to be implemented. That's the important part of the story. It's definitely worth a read.
Thank you. Louisville is okay, but the cops there are fascist thugs. Folks are trying to rein them in.
As bad as the state is politically, keep in mind that fully 40% are consistently working hard to toss out McConnell, Rand paul, and all those like them. It's uphill. Right now we are just hoping to hang on to our very good governor Andy this fall.
If he was, that good ol' boy sheriff would have shot him fo' sho'.
"The perpetrator pointed something in my direction. I feared for my life, so I emptied my service weapon in his direction, causing the perpetrator to discontinue standing."
That's not a hard thing to prevent in apartment buildings, there's always a cleanout on the first floor. Block the downward flow and divert everything to a holding tank. Of course that takes work and thought, and cops tend to be adverse to both things.
Now they can do extra stops for DWB.
Because that wouldn't be as exciting and macho for the LEOs, of course!

"We think he will help reduce the flow of drugs in our area"
You know, like the tremendous "reduction" in the flow of drugs that resulted from shooting Breonna.

772,000 thousand of us in 2020. It ain't nothin'.
The optics on this are terrible, but a racist organization like the Carroll County Sheriff's department probably sees it as a plus.

Every time some woman came forward and said Trump assaulted them, I googled their names to see what they look like. Blondes. Always blondes.
In Afroman's case, they got to break down his door!
Wounded victims can testify.
of course Cosgrove has to work somewhere
Why? Aren't there any offramps in Louisville where he could panhandle?
And Barney had more than one bullet.
