But it does make me feel persecuted! Where's my gay husband who wants to gay marry me and make gay sex on me in our gay house in our gay town while our gay pets watch and we should be packing for our gay vacation?

I've been tempted to rip off the roof and stay in bed, but replacing a roof is really expensive.

admittedly, he'd be pretty high in the embarasing category even in Georgia (and Eugene Talmadge and Lester Maddox were elected governor there) and Virginia (home of Pat Robertson and the Regent University Law Wives Association and Jerry Falwell, Jr. (someone who actually has managed to become a disgrace to the name Jerry Falwell - and the place where Bob McDonnell and Ken Cuccinelli got elected to state wide office) - so don't come crying to me about having one ultra embarassing person in your state. in Georgia he'd probably be a Congressman!

and Lester Maddox could ride a bicycle backwards

to me, Talmadge is primarily interesting because he was so ridiculously racist, corrupt, and dictatorial - i mean, he was ultra racist, corrupt, and dictatorial even by the standards of 1940s Georgia - one of the consequences of his desire for control over everything is that he so interfered with the Georgia Board of Regents that every public college in Georgia lost accreditation.
