So was Crews not confirmed? Was her vote impactful, or just puzzling?

2Cats2Furious's avatar

Just puzzling, I guess. The article isn’t particularly clear on this point, but it states that 49 Democrats (presumably including Independents angus King and Bernie Sanders) voted to confirm, as did Republicans Collins and Murkowski. So, the judge was confirmed with 51 votes.

Thanks. At least justice is still barely possible, by a razor thin margin, even when it’s so easily correct and obviously right. How precarious our system of democracy is.

At this time next year she's going to be auctioning off her unwashed underthings from her OF.

This is my Opposite of Oligarch-shaped comment:

She’s tacky, and I hate her.

That comment is a lovely shaped one. Lol

She probably has the worst taste in clothing of any woman in the public eye (still an improvement, you should have seen how she dressed when she was a Green Party member).

Wait, this all happened 8 days ago? And the Judge was sworn in on the 12th? I mean, Sinema is worthless but this is pretty old news.

Priceofcivilization's avatar

So was the judge confirmed 49-48?

I want to know!

Why was he different? Was he black? That might suffice.

51 -48 Collins and Murkowski voted for him

My guess is that she got him confused with Bert Kwouk's character in the "Pink Panther" movies....

Here I was thinking she got cut off in traffic by Britt Reid's chauffeur.

“Sinema voted for President Biden’s agenda 100 percent of the time, backed Biden’s green energy bill, even helped pass Biden’s American Rescue Plan.”

Shocking. You mean to say that someone who ran as a Democrat, and was elected as a Democrat, went on to vote like a Democrat? ..well, given that it's Sinema, I guess that is slightly shocking now that you mention it.

Listen, when you are busy fellating corporate lobbyist so that they will fund your quixotical campaign which will do nothing but allow the GQP to take back your state with a woman who is, somehow, even more crazy than you, you have to some times vote against qualified black judges.

Megan Macomber's avatar

Okay, it was "Sinema-Shaped," but does it dress like her?

Secret Agent Super Dragon's avatar

I assumed that "Sinema-shaped" means "like a fortysomething woman that still shops at Hot Topic"

fair_n_hite_451's avatar

Yeah, that was truly a weird turn of phrase.

OrdinaryJoe's avatar

Judge was going to get confirmed, with or without her. She used it for the performative value of being a Sinederpendent.
