It's no surprise that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is a big fan of religious freedom, especially the freedom to keep gays from getting married and the freedom to keep sluts from getting abortions. But it turns out that fundagelical Christans aren't the only people he has faith-time with -- Abbott was also happy to
And just for the record, I'm not at all blaming the doctor who let Chuck out. He denied Chuck's requests for freedom several times, but Chuck could be very rational-seeming and persuasive, and in the end, I guess the doc felt like he had no choice.
My point is, if he could get it wrong like that after several days, how much more pressure will there be on doctors in Texas in similar situations, now that Governor Asshat has denied them the power to hold on to a possibly suicidal (or homicidal) person for even a few hours?
This guy is a real piece of work. He sets the Texas State Guard, whatever the fuck that is, to follow soldiers around because he doesn't trust the U.S. Army, then he takes orders from Scientologists. I'm sure he'll be a leading presidential contender in 2020.
This is sad. My friend was hit by a car on his bike and taken to the hospital. He woke up out of his mind and just walked out. The next day he woke up with a big gaping hole in his head and an IV line in his arm. Luckily, where he lived only has four hospitals so he was able to track down the ER he left. They were stern and sent an ambulance to get him. He had brains hanging out and slipped into a coma. Thank God he woke up with hundreds of stitched in his head.
I bet it's OK to bring a loaded firearm into a Texas hospital. I'm moving there from Az., where we can have loaded weapons in bars. Drunk people make the best decisions.
I think they all should live in, Texas. "The sage in bloom smalls like the loons all over Texas, reminds me of the cults I loathe they should all be in Texas." Why, Warren Jeff's built his mansion complete with, deflowering room(of underage girls) he got away with it for a long time in Texas!"
Does Texas not have an involuntary hold law already for the mentally ill? That shocks me if they don't. Also too, 4 hours is nothing. I do get that it's weird to be holding them for law enforcement to arrive. Our holds are waiting for a psychiatrist to arrive and agree that the patient needs treatment and lacks capacity to make informed decisions.
I was trying to be funny. I think it's so bizarre that the majority of handgun crimes happen by people who are intoxicated by alcohol. Yet, Arizona passes a law that you can bring them, loaded into a bar. My parent's taught me never to yell."Movie" in a crowded firehouse.
My condolences.
Thanks to all who expressed condolences.

ISWYDT.
They have a yoooge compound near Hemet and a main tabernacle in Hollywood.
Sixteen candidates, or so...
Greta Van Susteren scientologist whack job.
Won't be long until Texas is governed by an inanimate object. On second thought, that would reverse the trend...
Un-fucking- believable!

That is wrong on so many levels.
It's an inanimate carbon rod!

Four hours provides just enough time for short-acting antipsych meds to kick in.
