That being said, the LAPD has in its own level from Darryl Gates on forward. The current LAPD chief, Jim McDonnell, owes Karen Bass his job. She's the one who appointed him. To watch LAPD stormtroopers stand idly by and allow ICE terrorize the people who live in LA is appalling. And then they will shoot what they call 'non-lethal projectiles' at journalists who are reporting the violence ICE is causing. Mayor Bass is doing her best, but the LAPD, which should be an ally, isn't. They're obstructing justice.
She's a professional Black woman who doesn't have anything to prove to anyone, and that's what makes her a scary monster to all these fascist weirdos roaming around on air and/or the innertubes.

So, let's say we read about a tsunami, where five people are reported dead, at first. Then we read that the tsunami was 300-plus feet in height. We can bet that all seven castaways on Gilligan's Island are dead.
Well, here's a bit of fraudenschede from the local paper: the resort restaurants at OK lakes are closed until they pay the state $250K in back fees. You see, the state park system here is a BIG FUCKING DEAL, and MAGA piece of shit GQP gov Stitt wanted them all to have nice restaurants. I am for this. Often, when I camp, I want to get a bit of AC and a meal a day or two in.
So MAGA piece of shit GQP gov Stitt gave the contract to the Swadleys. A nice enough family, but it turned out there was no notice for competing bids. "Oops," MAGA piece of shit GQP gov Stitt said, and Joe Swadley said, "We did the state a FAVOR, restaurants at the resorts operate at a loss, and we're willing to take that loss." Honestly, I wasn't unsympathetic, but a new company came in to operate, and the new company is now closed and owes the state $250K in fees.
This is one of the reasons I am sick of "businessmen" running our state.
