I just finished the first year of babysitting a 5 year old, now a break till after Labor Day when school starts. He's starting kindergarten and I will be picking him up and bringing him home from his new school which is not in the neighborhood(so subway ride.) Today I met his grandma as I dropped him off, as I went to shake her hand she grabbed mine with both hers very warmly, with a big smile, telling me, "thank you so much for taking such good care of my grandson." Then his mom had a thank you card with a little cash bonus for me, saying how grateful their family was for the wonderful care I've shown their son.

Babysitting is not a job you get rich doing but it has it's rewards. I love kids, I'm a big kid at heart so I think that's why I'm good at this, that and being really trustworthy, flexible and reliable.(the little things)

My husband and I managed to get a bit more of the living room painted this evening, it's looking pretty good so far.

I'm now thinking ahead and plotting decoration, we previously had some abstract canvas prints and a framed painting of a galloping horse by a local artist on the walls, the horse is staying but I need to figure out what to replace the abstract prints with.

I'm thinking something food and Italy related. Italy being on my "must visit one day" list.
