I don't recall making excuses. I'm saying, if you know there's danger, be careful, rather than jumping in. It's not blaming the victim to tell someone to be careful before they even become a victim. I doubt there's much satisfaction in blaming a murderer after you're dead. I'm getting really tired of the attitude that we can do any fucking thing we want because nobody has the right to hurt us. Guess what? There are bad people in the world who don't and never will care about your rights. It's perfectly all right to leave the bar with some thug because nothing that happens will be your fault because no means no.

I'm out of this discussion. All you have to do is train all men properly and the world will be safe for women, right? I'll continue to tell girls and women to not get into cars with strangers.

I'm sure Richard "Night Stalker" Ramirez was told to keep his hands to himself when he was a child. I don't think he paid attention and sociopaths don't wear ID tags. I remember in Pre-Med we saw a film about STDs. It had gross pictures and gave the distinct impression you cold tell someone had one by looking. It pissed me off that women would be so stupid they wouldn't wear a condom because a guy didn't look sick. Maybe you won't get the comparison and will think if men are just taught to be honest with their partners, sexually transmitted diseases will end. *sigh* Enough, though. I'll give this debate score to you.

You said it: "a bigot is a bigot." And you, toots, are a bigot.

I think we should also keep in mind that 50 years from now our times are going to be regarded as "fucked-up times" and people then are going to be baffled about the fucked up things we are saying today.

Angela Lansbury is more important than "what the Right is going to say."

"There is a difference between a man saying women are to blame for sexual harassment or sexual assault and a woman saying the same thing."

No there isn't. This shit wouldn't still be going on without willing female enablers of it. We're all adults here and it just so happens that some women do not exactly have the best interests of others in mind when taking to the podium to spout their stupidity. When you sound no different than your average Duggar or Phyllis Schlafly bible-thumping wingnut, it might be time someone corrected you: https://thepoliticalspectat...

Robyn, you're beginning to sound rather inconsistent and contradictory yourself these days. I wonder why. Your Nader fetish might have something to do with it I'm guessing - FYI: Libertarians are not pro-women, least of all Ron "White Power" Paul): https://www.youtube.com/wat...

She's no more important than anyone else. So-called "progressives" are painting themselves into a corner with their selective outrage. I wouldn't get behind Sarah Palin's anti-women bible-thumping claptrap any more than I'll get behind this old lady's ridiculous commentary. And I'm female... I don't do tribalism. I have a brain. I use it. Robyn stopped making sense with the Al Franken nonsense and seems to be happy to support wingnut ratfucking when it suits her (see Tweeden). Nope, not playing along.

That's a rather stupid comment. Are there a lot of women going to work in assless chaps? I don't make excuses for stupidity no matter whence it comes.

Oh please. "Older women" her age were fighting these same fights back in the day. She wasn't exactly born in the Victorian era.

When Landsbury was a young woman, other young women were heading up the feminist movement. It's quite hysterical that the fetuses around here still have never read a history book: https://thepoliticalspectat...

Yes, it's hypocritical. I have to stop reading this shitty blog before I blow my brains out. This would be why I don't do extremes. It's like falling down a rabbit hole.

Here is how I know this “too attractive” is bullshit.

When I was in highschool and early college I went out of the way to dress like shit. I was - and did not actually know - very depressed and many other horrible things. So I wore no makeup, nothing revealing, glasses and super large tent clothes. I was pudgy and a bit stocky. I was not, by any stretch, that conventionally pretty. And what charms I had I hid.

I still was harassed. I worked as a waitress and still two cooks would draw pictures of me sucking their cock and pinned me between them as a “sandwich.” I also as I have related, had my boss get me drunk to take advantage of me.

So no, Ms. Landsberry, you weren’t assaulted because you were too pretty. You were THERE.

There is a big difference between telling someone to not get into cars with strangers (tell your boys that too btw) than policing what they wear

I still have hope that I will live to see the ladies wearing brass brassieres riding dragons or piloting spacecraft as they come to enslave the males of Terra. They are from the pre-jump-suit era of sci-fi, coming to a solar system near you soon.
