The pharma companies have an economic incentive (right along with the moral one) to provide products that are effective and life-saving and to insure that they get to the consumers who need them. They don&#039;t gain anything when an existing or potential market for their products is decimated by a disease that could have been ameliorated by one of those products.
There aren&#039;t any effective medicines that treat Ebola, so it isn&#039;t a matter of &quot;evil pharma companies&quot; withholding products or making them difficult to obtain. Such treatments simply don&#039;t exist at present. Incidentally, health care workers who have contracted Ebola and have fully recovered (a process that can take up to a year) are no longer in danger of contracting it because their bodies now have immunity.
