You know who is the best? Leslie Jones! And, from what my Twitter and Facebook feeds have been telling me since Friday, LADY GHOSTBUSTERS was also the best. Which has been great to hear, given the insane backlash the film has gotten, ever since it was first announced, from sad sexist dudes who were outraged over the supposed ruining of their collective childhoods. Which is rather amusing coming from the same types of dudes who probably jerk it to "My Little Pony" porn.
I have a friend who is really, REALLY sensitive to scary things, but still wanted to support the movie; she just bought a ticket online and didn't go. Of course it's great to also show up at the theater, but you don't necessarily have to.
I don't go to movies because people simply don't know how to act in public spaces anymore. That said, I'm taking my wife and daughters to this because the cast is fucking awesome, women as leads/heroines, and I love, Love, LOVE L.J. She is pretty much carrying SNL right now. Also, too, I'm 100% positive I won't have to deal with MRAs and MGTOWs at the new Ghostbusters, so I don't have to fear an arrest for manslaughter

I stumbled across this article while trying to decipher what happened at the RNC last night. And this article just makes me cry. I am so sorry, Leslie Jones. You are a beautiful funny gal.
I was sick when I first read about this. Leslie in no way deserves any of the crap that was thrown her way and also she was hilarious and not typecast in the new Ghostbuster's movie. A friend of a friend was talking on Facebook about what she thinks is in Patty's background and it's quite interesting and fitting for how her character interacts with the rest of the team.
