They tend to view sexual activities as belonging to one of two categories: Jesus-approved (that is, penis-in-vagina missionary style in the confines of a Christian, patriarchal marriage) and sinful (everything else). Consent doesn’t enter into their thinking at all. It’s why they don’t see the difference between adults molesting kids and consensual relations between two consenting, same sex adults.
It's not surprising at all. Conservative "Christian" communities have very high levels of child sex abuse, don't view children or women as having agency and many would consider child rape less sinful than masterbation. (Yes, you read that right) can't have the chattel educated enough to ask for help.
A fast word about oral contraception. I was involved in an extremely good example of oral contraception two weeks ago. I asked a girl to go to bed with me, she said "no."
It's hard to believe that there wasn't any religious instruction woven into that curriculum. The authors of that absolute disgrace of a "lesson -plan" took some pains to hide the forbidden religious instruction, but I doubt if they took "great" pains to do so. Our tax dollars, yours and mine FFS, are being spent on Christian indoctrination. (And shockingly terrible pedagogy,)
