It has occurred to me more than once that being diagnosed with cancer in September may have saved my life. I'm away from my retail job and all the members of the public who refuse to wear masks while cases of Covid go up every week. I'm hoping that the vaccine will become available right around the time my paid leave ends.
I use it to maintain contact with people I worked with in the past and would have otherwise lost contact with and would either want to ask if they have any openings where they work or more often to reach out to them to try and recruit them for where I work.
At my current company, I have reached to people probably 10 times to recruit them. Four interviewed, three joined. We get paid a head hunting fee for everyone we recruit who joins so that has turned into a nice stack of dead presidents in my pocket.
Not too bad. Have only had mild nausea and I have some sores in my mouth (chemo mouth). Nothing I can't deal with. I'm only 2 treatments in, so I know things will probably get harder, but going to continue looking on the bright side of things as long as possible.

Imagine if, rather than complaining about workers making more on unemployment than they get flipping burgers, the McDonald's's of the world were forced to bend to the laws of economics and raise wages to attract workers?
