Does anyone recall a speech Comey made, I believe in 2015, in which he referenced a 2006 FBI bulletin that detailed the threat of white nationalists and skinheads infiltrating police in order to disrupt investigations against fellow members and recruit other supremacists? This makes me wonder if perhaps, it wasn’t just local and/or state law enforcement they were/are infiltrating, but federal law enforcement too, maybe agencies like ICE.
What better place for white nationalists to recruit people who might resent brown people, be able to disrupt federal extremism investigations (since ICE is under Homeland’s umbrella), and best of all (from their viewpoint), to indulge their rabid hatred of brown people, but ICE? And it would explain the allegations of rape, beatings, etc. of detainees, the physical and sexual abuse of child detainees, as well as the recent Homeland IG report detailing the awful conditions in ICE detainment centers, the lack of medical care, resulting in an excessive number of detainee deaths from entirely treatable conditions, and lack of inspections that’s gone on for “years” without improvement despite being cited in previous IG reports.
Not that federal law enforcement officials necessarily have to be white nationalists to do or fail to do any of those things, but ICE does seem to be inordinately bad compared to some other federal law enforcement. And I can’t imagine they wouldn’t want to infiltrate the federal levels of law enforcement since up until Trump removed them from Homeland’s extremist investigative purview in February of last year (and also cut funding for organizations that combat white nationalism, white supremacy and neo-Nazism), white extremist groups were being investigated and thwarted in some of their activities.
Why would they choose 88 claims? Why not “out of 100 claims,” then give the number of valid claims out of 100—or any other nice round number? That seems like either a REALLY strange, random number to choose for a sampling of claims that, just by some really bizarre coincidence, happens to have significance to white nationalists—or a very deliberate, calculated, purposive choice.
While the Trump administration is often reasonless and capricious, this is just too arbitrary even for them, so I tend to think it’s the latter of the two suppositions. Particularly since this administration has an inordinate number of “coincidences” involving white nationalists, white supremacists and neo-Nazis (and Russia—a country chock full of white nationalist/ethnonationalist sentiment) that simply defies all reason, logic and statistics. And especially given that their rhetoric and actions are screaming that they are precisely what we think they are. I don’t know how anyone with even a cursory knowledge of world history could possibly deny that there’s any parallels, and claim there’s no reason for concern.
Like the catapults that Trumpenführer says drug smugglers use to launch 60 lb. sacks of drugs over the existing border fence, thus necessitating that his wall be “see through” because those sacks might thwack someone on the head? I imagine they could be adapted for people, which means the wall REALLY should be see through so people aren’t struck by projectile brown people.
I support this. I say we start an eBay auction, and offer trump supporters up for any decent human beings from anywhere. We don’t even care what you do after you get them. No questions asked.
