Make Bat Boy Great Again! Guys! We just figured out why the Trump presidential transition process feels vaguely familiar to us, even though nobody like that ambulatory gunny sack of spite, lies, and hair has ever been the nation's chief executive before. Trump's transition is exactly like the start of an epic comic book story, where all of the super-villains break out of Arkham Asylum, depart from their bases under extinct volcanoes, and answer the uncanny call of evil to gather at The Joker's latest underground lair. There's some fussing and backstabbing, but eventually they unite in their goal to rid the world of Superman, or at least rule the world. Speaking of which, Florida Gov. Rick Scott is
Can anyone think of another regime that had criminals in charge? This is a sickening period in American history. These folks would all end up in jail except for the fact that they are in charge of every part of the system that could put them in jail.
Comic books as a frame for our current political nightmare? Can it be so?
To test this I visited the COMIX VAULT (my basement) and picked, at random, one of the cardboard boxes on the old green dresser. I then pulled, at random, one issue from that box. It was issue #112 of the Incredible Hulk. (February 1969, Stan Lee and Herb Trimpe, the story is titled "The Brute Battles On!")
I closed my eyes and opened the comic (no gloves) to a random place.
Behold! Our favorite gamma ray infused rageaholic is locked in battle with the dreaded Galaxy Master!
Doktor Zoom is right! Comic books DO shed light upon our Politics! We see the overwhelming EgoMania and Power of the Galaxy Master trying to destroy the Hulk on an alien planet which is inhabited by a race of warlords who are the Galaxy Masters slaves!
The Hulk, back in 1969, was an anti-establishment type anti-hero who had a limited set of conflict resolution skills and little interest in deep questions. It is left to The Princess of the Aliens to explain that the Galaxy Master had reduced her planet to serfdom long ago after destroying his own creators!
"He was spawned in evil--with CREATURES of evil a thousand universes away! He was one of them! He was truly their BROTHER. But he was the evillest one of all!...(he) did not rest until he had DESTROYED them all!"
(And yes Stan Lee spelled "evillest"just like that! What do you want? He was churning out about two dozen titles each month!)
NPR has this story on the electoral college. There is a petition to encourage the electors NOT to vote Trump when they convene next month. They said it's unlikely, if they were going to dump trump they would probably not vote for a democrat. I signed it anyway, judge for yourselves whether you think it's worth it.
OT- that poll above the non comment section here, has a "who is more fit to be preznit" Trump or Hillz, with 62% for Trump and 23% for Hillz, and 11% on "Other". Which goes to show that 73% of polled ppl are complete idjits.
Just a little side note. The fine for HCA in 2000 was $745 million, or over a billion dollars today counting inflation. Trump claimed a loss of $916 million in 1995, or over $1.4 billion today counting inflation. I'm sure you could tack a couple of billion more onto Trump's total for unpaid creditors and workers, but I won't for this comment. So we have a president who is lauded for his business acumen and a two term governor and possibly the Secretary of Health and Human Services. So we have two people that are responsible for the welfare of over 300 million people who between them lost or were fined just shy of $2.5 billion dollars in two separate one year periods. So grab your ankles and hold on. You know what's coming next.

Double tall, I assume? The first 7 are on me.
You assumed correctly! Also there's something you should know about me. The answer to "do you want another?" is always the same: "YES!"
Well, Putin. In Russia. Criminals are in charge there.
America is on its way to becoming a kleptocracy,
Well isn't this a fine how do you do!
